I just want to watch Netflix, but I can't because it's making me reset my password and the server where you do that has been down for hours.
"we delete", I guess it makes sense someone of your class has to have someone help you delete billing info. I am surprised you even have a CC, you should be straight cash homey with all that class. Anyways, I am not too concerned about my billing info with PSN, they already got it. Identity theft sucks and unfortunately there's not a lot you can do to actually prevent it. As long as you check your reports or monitor it every few months you can get it fixed, it's just a pain in the ass. Need to see when the free games are available.
I think it's a far cry to say you can't do anything to prevent it. It's a huge pain in the ass, and yeah, while you might be right about reimbursement and restoration of credit in the end, it's been over four years since I had my identity stolen and I'm still picking up the pieces. Because of this PSN debacle, I'm double checking all my pockets, so to speak, every day. If something fraudulent does happen to your finances, acting quickly is necessary. In this case, one might be more worried if they used the same password(s) for other sites, programs, etc.
Should I worry? I just found a charge for $1198.22 on my CC for 'Hookers and Blow, INC'. Now, I know I did the blow, but for the life of me, I can't remember the hoes. Time to file with the CC company or just pay it? Stupid Sony.
I never said you cant do anything, I just said its hard to prevent it. I know its a huge pain in the ass, happened to me as well. You can have whatever service monitor reports, all you want, to try and prevent an account from being opened, but the problem is most wont catch it until its already there. The "controls" in stores like best buy, home depot, target, are part of the problem. If someone wants to open a credit card in store, or online, and that same day max's out their limit, you would think it would raise a few flags. The sales people dont care because they get reviewed and compensated on how many credit cards they get people to sign up for. Dont even get me started on the credit agencies, they are as crooked as the people that steal everyones identity. Again removing information from PSN now, does no good, once the "data" has been compromised, its gone....so if you really want to try and protect yourself, think about canceling that credit card.
I need to do that...I have a totally different credit card now...I guess if you want to buy stuff, you can get the sony gc's or whatever they're called...
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/34739/Sony_Tells_Dev_Partners_PlayStation_Store_To_Return_May_24.php Looks like Sony is bringing the Store back up next Tuesday, May 24.
Well apparently strike that. According to Gamespot: Hey, Sony. There wouldn't be so many rumors if you would communicate what the hell is going on a bit more frequently.
Exactly, anytime there's something I want, that's what I do. Not much an identity thief can do with a PSN gift card.
heads up, if you have Woodforest National Bank and you're trying to get a charge removed. Say you're pretty positive it was the PSN that caused a fraudulent charge. I haven't tried this but my GF works there and says people have been calling in saying that, and managers have been removing the charges. just saying lol.
I'm pretty certain it will be back up Tuesday. It just wasn't an official statement meant for consumers (basically just a rough date that publishers could expect). Sony probably just doesn't want to commit to it 100% yet, so they don't want anyone spreading the date around. (definitely wouldn't be nice if their communication was better though) You can also buy content from Amazon (no tax), and redeem the codes through the store. Usually what I do.
I'm really hoping Beyond Good & Evil HD will be available as soon as the PS Store reopens. I've been waiting too long!!!
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/24/playstation-network-scheduled-maintenance-today/ I got on "Home" today... first time in a long time... like maybe 1 year... and I went to Sodium. Nice place. You can dance in there, too.
I have yet to even log on to PSN since it went down. They kind of lost me to be honest. Holding out until NCAA 12 at the earliest most likely.
I am not bothered by it. They got hacked, it is back up, no biggie...if someone steals your CC info, you are only libel for $50 anyway..... Not a big deal, IMO. DD
