The part you referred to, that it's the worst type of cheating. From their POV there's never an excuse, but if it was at least a case where he fell in love with someone else who was a better match, well that could be forgiven with time or at least one can understand Arnold's reasoning. In this case, both the wife and kid have to feel like ****, if in fact it was just a casual thing.

Some of you guys are missing the point, that's not the only woman he cheated with over the course of that marriage.
