"This league has a habit, and I am just going to say habit, of producing some pretty incredible story lines," Kahn said. "Last year it was Abe Pollin's widow and this year it was a 14-year-old boy and the only thing we have in common is we have both been bar mitzvahed. We were done. I told Kevin: 'We're toast.' This is not happening for us and I was right."[/rquoter]

He is right. Why won't Les Alexander die so his widow can give us a #1 pick?

Haven't the recent lotteries been highly inspected by all the GMs? This guy is such a sore loser. IIRC, he's reacted unprofessionally to things not going his way in the past. I need to find some links.

Found something from NBA.com Would this source be considered too biased? The article seems normal...

yes, when faced with a one night feel good story of letting a widow or a 14 year old with a nerve disorder win the lottery or years and years of possibly increasing ratings and the bottom line, i'm sure the nba loves going with the latter.

and on top of that, what could be better than letting cleveland, utah, and minnesota have the top picks. the marketing practically does itself at this point. or maybe they just let the small markets win because they knew it was a crappy draft and this will get us off the conspiracy hunt.

stop trying to pass the buck. daryl morey's failure to kill les alexander so that he has a widow is the real problem with our franchise.

I thought he was open to trading the #2 pick for veteran players? Would getting the first pick instead of the second make that much of a difference to him? My only guess is he could get a better deal trading a #1 than a #2...or he would draft another PG lol

And I don't know why Kahn is b****ing about the #2 pick. Cleveland is said to want Irving. I can't imagine the Wolves taking Irving, a PG, after spending 2 years chasing Rubio.

Just another douchebag who treats people like assets.

They might have wanted to trade the number 1 pick/Irving though giving them a better return.

Morey is just waiting for the right time. This year's draft is not worth killing Les for.

    I don't know. A Cleveland v Miami/LeBron rivalry would draw ratings.

Can you imagine them meeting in the postseason? Alot of money for the NBA.

Also when there is an unanimous 1st overall pick NBA also have a tendency to give the 1st pick to the player's hometown team (lebron/Cleveland, Wall/DC).

Kahn is a disgrace to the Wolves organization, and just has to go. His incompetence and his blowhardedness have as much as anything created the Wolves' perception into that of the Clippers' replacement as that team of fools. He just needs to go away and never come back.

From where I'm sitting, it sounds like he was making a joke that doesn't come over very well without audio/video. Givony of DX said the same thing on twitter and promised to post the video. This just sounds like when Kahn had that crazy awkward interaction with CWebb in the summer league; a really bad joke that everyone piles on to because he's the NBA whipping boy.

    Who cares what Kahn thinks?

Isn't he the same guy who compared Darko to Chris Webber and Vlade Divac?

Haven't they had like the best statistical chance of winning the lottery
like 9~10 times. . . and never won it

what are the chances of that happening?
