I'd be more than happy with Jonas. This is a rare draft for me. I usually don't look too much into the international prospects, but I would be happy with any of the 1st round projected international bigs. Kanter, Biyombo, Vesely, Valanciunas, Donatas, Bebe, and even a flyer in the 2nd round on that Giorgi Shermadini guy.

Did you watch Dwight when he was a rookie?

(Not saying Favors will be as good as Dwight, but look at the amount of weight and skill that Dwight has added)

I would bet that Dwight actually jumps higher now than he did as a rookie. The squats and power cleans...

You're probably right about Dwight. My point is more about athleticism leaping out at you. When you watch Dwight (even as a rookie), you can't help but say 'wow' at his athleticism. There's a reason that he was also in the slam dunk contest -- the man is scary athletic.

I just don't get the same feeling from watching Favors. His measureables are comparable, but how often does a standing vertical come into play in the NBA? NBA athleticism, IMO, is more about the ability to move your feet, explode into your jumps, and recover quickly (consecutive jumps). In that regard, I don't think Favors is on the same level athletically as Dwight Howard.

(That doesn't mean I don't want him. I'd take any young big guy who has a chance to grow into a Center for this team.)

I guarantee you this draft will not be as bad as advertised. It's just not as good on star type players, but it's filled with very good role type players. Even moreso than last years.

Yeah I agree. As of now, comparing Favors to Dwight is like comparing Dwight to Hakeem as far as athleticism is concerned. Measurables can be overrated.

Like you said though, I would give up just about anything to pair him with Patrick Patterson for the next decade...

All of the international SF/PF/C are so big this year. One of them is gonna turn into an all-star.

Any chance to land Cavs 4th pick? Would they give it up - I think so for the right price. Would they consider anything we can offer?

I would almost bet you could get Al Jefferson from Utah for expiring contracts now. But don't know if he'd be worth it. Big money, not known for any kind of D. Takes a lot of shots, doesn't get to the FT line. But, I'd bet Utah would give him away for basically nothing.

The Kings pick (7th) and the Warriors pick (11th) could be available.

If we stay at 14, I think I'd just hope for Jimmer.

Who do you take? Derrick Williams? Is he your PF of the future?

This move only happens if Morey and Co. decide there is someone worth moving up for. If they fall in love with Kanter, Derrick Williams, Biyombo, or any one else, they make the move. If they like the value of what they can get at #14, they'll stay put.

I'm more for moving up (as long as someone distinguishes themselves as worthy of the 2nd pick), using Kevin Martin, b/c his value will never be higher.

Yeah I'd take Derrick Williams, tremendous gifted athlete, who could be a mismatch every night vs. the opposing PF with his speed and his overall quickness.

But I would also be open to picking Enes Kanter if his knees test out okay, the guy is extremely skilled for his size. Has been very impressive in workouts, and has extended his range to the 3 point line. Its a big advantage having a center that can knock down a 3 constantly.

Williams, Kanter, Valanciunas and Biyombo intrigue me. Valanciunas could come with the added benefit of staying overseas an extra year, which would allow the Rockets to get another crack at the lottery.

Derrick Williams is going to be a primary 3 in the NBA. Derrick himself, even knows this. He just got done talking about it on ESPN.

Would Minny take KMart and #14 for DWilliams??? That's very tempting if you are the Rockets.

Kahn must be pretty confident that Rubio is coming to town to play for him and he wants vets for Rubio to throw the ball to.

I really think Minny is wanting to pander down with Cleveland from 2 to 4 and take Kantor there. I have a hunch Minny wants to add Kantor to Love and Beasley with Rubio and Johnson in the backcourt. And he thinks he can get more out of #2 than just drafting Kantor straight up. I doubt he's willing to trade down very far and miss the opportunity to get Kantor.

And Cleveland may just be willing to give up a little bit to move from 4 to 2 and grab Williams to go with Kyrie, maybe #4 and a future first for #2.

    Kyrie
    SG
    Williams
    Varejao
    Hickson

    not bad.

This would allow Minny to slide into #4 and possibly grab Kantor depending on what Utah does.
