The heat lost the rebounding battles in regular season by double digits too. I highly doubt they can fix that overnight. And if they do use everybody to secure the boards, they wouldn't have that many fastbreak opportunities.

seriously coming from a lebron nut hugger?

it can also mean rose going around lebron or splitting the double-team or passing to a wide open/shooting over chalmers or bibby deng or korver

and at the other end lebron will be too tired to focus on his own offense

funny you bring that play up. rose didn't beat bron off the dribble and wade still helped. wade admitted fault on that too. if you saw that game specifically, bron was on him from the 8 minute of the 4th quarter till the end and rose shot 2-10 straight up. he can guard him for short stretches.

but you're right about the fatigue factor. obviously lebron isn't going to be on rose the WHOLE game, but you will see him on rose more in this game.

an you will see more dribble penatration and kick outs to shooters matched up against Bibby/Chamlers:grin:

You also keep one of your best if not THE best interior rebounders and shot blockers in the perimiter guarding a PG.

Sounds like one hell of a game plan....

who's their shooter? korver? i'll give bogans, brewer, watson those same shots again. and all the time.

rose made 3-6 from 3s. he shot 20% in the playoffs
deng made 4-6 from 3s. he shot 32% in the playoffs.
watson and bogans also made 3s.

those guys' averages will kick in.

if bron is on rose, you'll see more JUMPSHOTS. that means LONG REBOUNDS. the heat didn't do a good job of getting those "long" rebounds in the first game (those rebounds that bounce off to the ft line or outside the paint). there's a reason westbrook/jkidd/rondo still rebound the damn ball despite being outside the paint.

that was why you know it was a lack of effort. you have wade and lebron, 2 of the best rebounders in the L at their position, and they didn't do that. wade didn't get his first rebound till late in the 2nd quarter i believe.

Rondo wasn't playing with one arm when the Heat took care of business in the first two games, something that surprised a lot of the people who thought the Celtics had this huge psychological edge over them.

None of the Celtics started in the all-star game, so even if it was just a popularity contest, it was at least the coaches who thought they deserved it instead of fans.

I wasn't talking about whether or not the Heat have depth at all. I just think it's ridiculous how so many people thought the Celtics were a great matchup for the Heat, had this big psychological edge because they've beaten Lebron and Wade before in the playoffs, and posed a huge challenge to Miami's title hopes, but now have changed the story to "they were too old and never had a chance" less than two weeks later because the Heat turned out to be better than everyone thought.

Actually, I seem to recall a lot of people talking about the Cavs weak supporting cast before they failed in the playoffs. What other 60+ win teams were even considering making big trades in-season the last two years (bringing in Amare would have been a huge move)?

The Heat had a part-time starter out for some games (Big Z) and their top two guys off the bench were either out or too injured to play well all season. They finished as the 2nd seed. How is that not weathering the injuries? Is it only depth if you still finish 1st, but not 2nd?

vlaurielo predicted that the celtics would easily beat the heat before the series. He presented facts such as depth, experience, coaching, and rebounding. Exactly the same way he is doing in this thread. The heat won that series in 5. If you are a betting man, do EXACTLY the opposite of what vlaurielo says and you'll make bank. Fact.

Safe then to assume you've put money down on this game? Just how much?

I don't get why everyone is making such a big deal about Gibson's dunk. Since when do we celebrate guys dunking over someone who is five inches shorter?
