    If you had the choice:

Would you choose to have a full season of NBA Basketball and and endure a full season lockout of the NFL?

    Or

Have a full season of NFL Football and and endure a full season lockout of the NBA.

    Wait...

    Is the first option asking:

NBA season and no NFL lockout?

Or NBA lockout and no NFL season?

Any year, and every year I wish there would be no NFL season even when a lockout isn't threatened. I hate watching the NFL.

This will be reasonably close even with this being a basketball board, which is a clue that the NFL is #1 in the US.

I voted I would rather lose a season of the NBA. It's close though. I prefer football, but several games a weeks diversion is better than 1.

Plus college football is a more appealing product to me than regular season college basketball. Basketball season would be pretty bleak without the NBA.

Seeing as how the Rockets currently suck and the Texans have potential, I'll stick with NFL. However, ask me that 3 years ago and I would have said differently.

I'd definitely rather have an NFL lockout. I don't watch much football anyway.

I'd take the NBA only because it would be refreshing to see the media and fans focus more on college football (I don't care much for college basketball outside of TAMU). I'd still be able to get my football fix from the NCAA.

Voted NFL/no NBA for a couple reasons:

-NBA is more flawed product as it stands, especially with the current trend of have/have not payrolls, superfriends, officiating, $20M going to the likes of Rashard Lewis, etc.

-NBA, along the same lines, could use a major reworking of the CBA while the NFL would be just fine if it renewed the old CBA was minor tweaks.

-I think it's probably going to be the reality. NFL just needs to find a way to save face, NBA owners and players are too far apart and both sides will dig in over the hard cap/guaranteed deals.

Tough call, while I am a fan of basketball, I do not care to watch much other than Rockets games, aside from a few players/teams of interest and the occasional playoff series here or there, each season. Whereas, I do watch football, especially due to a long running fantasy football league or two. I'm a bigger rockets fan than any other basketball team (or team for that matter), but a better follower of the league as a whole with the NFL. I am a Texans fan as well, but not to the same extent, mainly because they are new-ish.

Lots of other factors could be considered, I guess, like which side in which league stands to benefit and why, or which players union you think deserves more consideration or less, or which owners are getting more or less than they deserve, or timing... but since it all reeks of excess and ridiculous numbers I'll say I won't cry if both Lockout/Strike/Whatever and they all learn a lesson. Having watched how baseball and fans handled that sport's return to favor, I might temper that with caution and skepticism.

I would miss watching the Rockets most, but football as a whole would be more detrimental, probably. That said... 82+ games vs. 16+.... hmmm

Close call, I say Football lockout would bother me more, but perhaps for less fan related and more superficial reasons.
