    Harsh.

As crazy as it all sounds, I hope that the mother can get her **** together and get her kid back. All kids deserve a stable life.

How can so-called "physicians" and "doctors" who administer these "botox" injections even continue to be doctors after doing this to kids?!?!?

I remember seeing this What Would You Do? episode about a dad and a mom making their daughter get the injections: http://youtu.be/6uKhCsMSXco
EDIT: never mind, that's not the one about the dad and the daughter... but watch that one, too... it's similar and at the same spa place.

I don't think this is just a matter of whether botox is dangerous to someone's health. What if it wasn't dangerous but the kid didn't want to go through getting a friggin needle poked through her face several times? What if the kid said "yes" to the procedure only because her mom forced her into doing it?

If this is the mother of the kid who does beauty pageants, she injected the kid herself, there wasn't a doctor involved. The problem, at least in this case, is how easy one can buy botox. I think this justifies even more taking her out of the home.

Where can you get botox? I want a Christian Slater head. So shiny. So smooth.

Botox is Botulism. It paralyzes muscles. Not sure if we know what the effects are on a growing kid.

while i certainly think this was stupid for the mother to do this, one problem that the state will have is that proving that botox was implicitly dangerous.

it's used routinely in children with cerebral palsy to help with muscle contractures.

i have no idea if the dose used for cosmetic purposes is the same, but I actually would guess its a lower dose than for contractures...
