Warriors rebuild just about every 2-3 years....Rockets every 5-10...I'd take longevity over one-year wonders anytime

Actually, they have the bigger media market (as of 2006 anyways)- http://www.proadvance.com/topmediamarkets.html . They are 6th, we are 10th.

Houston area may be bigger but in terms of population (specifically, TV owning population), Bay Area is actually larger.

Do agree on the GM point tho.

    3 words.....

    NO STATE TAX

-def. would take my coaching talents to Texas, or Florida if I had the chance to pocket some extra cash at the end of the day. The state tax rate in California if you make over 1Million is 11% guys. If the new coach gets paid around say 2 Million a year for a 2 year contract the coach will save close to half of a million dollars by choosing Houston over Golden state.

Much less have the opportunity to coach a team with great character athletes, a winning record, young talent, and a bright future.

Also despite what the fairweather clutchfans, and King Douchebag Solomon think about the organization, around the NBA the Rockets organization and Les Alexander have a great reputation for taking care of their players/coaches and being an overall enjoyable place to spend your career.
