Yup, he's a top 5 pg. And if he could shoot a mid-range jumper, the Celtics would still be in the playoffs.

True, but when the offense flows through the PG and the offense breaks down, the PG needs to be able to create his own shot.

First of all, I do believe Kidd is a HOF PG. That being said, how many HOF PG's couldn't shoot well?

Those guys were either SG's in PG's bodies or PG's whose only jobs were to hit open shots. I don't really understand the comparison.

Just because he didnt average 20 points like most of today's point guards, doesnt mean he couldnt create his own shot....He still managed to affect the game better than any point guard in his era despite the so called "poor shooting"

Kidd has always been an okay 3-pt shooter, and a good FT shooter. This is something Rondo has yet been able to do.

stockton is a no brainer with almost the same scoring average. but stockton obviously was a much better shooter, one of the best ever. payton had some ridiculous years putting up over twenty one points and eight assists a game. he has an unbelievable five year stretch from 99-03.

some guys you just think of as hofers no contest. but for pgs, magic and isiah were just in a different league.

During his prime, Kidd was a subpar 3pt shooter. And his shooting percentage dropped during the playoffs. In his first 3 playoff runs with NJ (which includes 2 finals appearances), he shot a combined 25% from the 3 pt line.

He could have shot 50% from 3's...It still wouldnt have helped them beat the Lakers nor Spurs those years....... We all know he wasnt a great shooter but he wasnt a "Rafer Alston" type shooter either...He was at least a threat unlike Rondo...

No. You sound like an idiot.

For future reference, never make an argument based on hyperbole. If he were shooting 50% from the 3 pt line against the Lakers or Spurs, he would've taken every single shot for his team and the Nets would've won.

And also, before you make statements like:

You should check to see if statistics support your assertion. They don't.

Anyways, like I said earlier, he's a HOF PG. That being said, he's not at the level of Magic/Isiah/Stockton.

Kidd is the class behind Magic, Thomas, Cousey, Stockton and Nash IMO.

Kidd was a good defender, great passer and a great rebounder. However, Stockton was also a very good defender, and unlike Kidd, was one of the best all around shooters to ever live. As much as I hate to admit it, Stockton was just better and more consistent.

Nash's peak is better than Kidd's peak and I would in a narrow contest take him career-wise over Kidd.

Having said that, Kidd is a sure fire hall of famer.

It's pretty clear that we're on different levels of thinking.

    I'll leave it at that...
