You're really missing the point. You don't make ST6 by being a greedy and a selfish individual. Nor do you make it by living your life in fear of revealing your identity. It takes honor and integrity and a strong drive. If these guys wish to compromise their integrity, they can make millions outside of being in the limelight. Nor do they need to be handed a cushy government job to earn a living.
It seems you really miss the mark on what it takes to become part of the elite forces, especially when you're comparing them to hollywood.

    just to play Devils Advocate . . . .
when we talk of Role Models etc . . . . would not their story
make for a better role model than the hollywood set?
Could they do alot of America to set that example?

The special forces are a role model. They teach hard work, selflessness and team work. Putting a face on that only promotes what comes out of hollywood and sports; Selfishness, greed and power.

So true. Look at all those FPS games that are derived from special forces. Wonder how much of that profit goes to help families who lost a loved one to a special op. Not saying the companies have to donate but it would be nice.

I'm not so sure about this. If anything in the mission is classified as national security (which I'm sure it is), they would be obligated to say silent forever - just as CIA and others are about undercover ops.

Now, if they came out and were national heroes, would an administration really try to go after them? That's a different story - but the possibility that they are ethically and legally obligated to stay silent is certainly there.

I'd bet the farm they're sworn to silence.

Besides, if you broke your silence, you'd instantly make both yourself and your entire family targets.

Maybe I'm missing something, but don't they get the 25 million dollar reward? It would make since that they get that money and split it. A few mil a piece is a nice chunk of money, and they will probably have a nice pension coming their way too.

If someone that works for Google files a life-altering, billion dollar patent, they get squat. All credit goes to Google. I'm pretty sure the same applies here.

As others have already tried to argue, I'm guessing these guys are motivated by neither fear nor greed. The poll seems to miss the mark entirely.
