Lebron and Wade were about 3 steps slower than they usually are and when Wade got dunked on, he didn't even elevate. Those guys were definitely partying or they ate some bad food in Chicago. You can all praise the bulls all you want, but the big 2 played awful and it wasn't due to the Bulls defense. Blame it on the goose.

Peja has a back problem, so he can't get it off. If the playoffs has taught you anything, the regular season really doesn't matter. the Heat are also a completely different team than when the Mavs beat them (so are the mavs without Caron Butler). Thunder are also a different team with the trade and the performances of westbrook and durant in the playoffs. Marion is not an elite defender, if you think he can slow down LEBRON JAMES or DWYANE WADE or WESTBROOK. the sheer athletic ability and intelligence will be a joke. The problem with LA wasn't the individual efforts of players, it was the lack of rotational switches and helps (laziness) by the Lakers. For every team in the playoffs left, which consists of players under the age of 30, that probably won't be an issue. I kinda have this feeling that westbrook is a quicker rotation to block a shot than derek fisher or steve blake. I also think Durant/Nowtizki and James/Nowtizki will be a wash so that kinda leaves the talent into the hands of player who need a quick shot or poor defensive transition to be effective. I don't see that happening to the three most healthy teams left in the playoffs.

Oh and if defense is a question, how will the mavs with a slow nowitkzi and kidd slow down the ridic transition points of each team?

So you're saying the best defense in the NBA had nothing to do with it?

For everyone that says they partied or didn't show up for this game, I think you all are missing the first 2 qtrs where the Heat were up to the challenge. If they REALLY did slack off the Bulls would have wiped the floor with them at this stage of the season.

This is the ECF. What happens when a team shows up not prepared to play in a playoff game, they get embarrassed. No matter how good they are or think they are, the Lakers and Mavs series showed that.

Well according to some people here, Wade got dunked on because he was partying out too much.

Give credit where credit is deserved. Bulls came to play. End of story.

Picked the Heat to win before the series and I'm sticking with my pick but the excuses for them losing game 1 is absolutely laughable. The Heat lost because they were partying. Reallyyyyyy? No proof or nothing of this just some Clutchfan rumor. It's not even a worldwide internet rumor just some people who are obviously pulling for the Heat making stupid excuses.

Give the Bulls some credit. The Heat have yet to beat the Bulls all season and people still make excuses for the Heat losing to them like the Bulls are some type of terrible team.

What chess match are you talking about? The heat have 2 superstars, one 2nd option, 2 average role players (James Jones, Joel Anthony), and a whole bunch of end of bench scrubs. Chicago has the tools to tinker with the offense, but the heat rotations are set in stone. As far as the heat are concerned, there's no advanced strategies here, just let LBJ, Bosh and Wade execute their sets and out-talent the opposition.

Its gonna be up to the big 3 to put up 95% of the Heat's production. Sure its not fair for only three guys to carry such a big load, but they're the ones who wanted it that way.

    Gotta love it.

End of game 5 against the Celtics, Miami celebrates like they just won the championship, and then game 1, Bulls just put them in their place.

Hopefully Chicago can continue pounding and win the series. I picked Chicago in 6, but now I might be leaning more towards Chicago in 4 or 5 ;)

Like I said earlier, I have seen the Bulls play all year long. They had a tendency to play down to the level of their lesser opponents in the regular season, much like they did in the first 2 rounds of the Playoffs but they excelled against the upper-echelon teams and played their best basketball against the best competition this season. And it won't matter what LeBron and Wade do, because if the Heat continue to get annihilated on the glass like they did in Game 1(which is a very real possibility), the Heat are cooked.

    Seriously?

I agree with stab, I've been watching the Bulls all season and they definitely play to the level of their opponent. They were building momentum off of their last 2 wins coming into this game and allowed that momentum to keep rolling.

But to not attribute it to their defense? C'mon man. The Heatles were fine in the first half, the score was tied, it was a close game like everyone thought it'd be. Unless the big 2 decided to order bottles at halftime, then I can understand blaming it on the goose. But until halftime, that game was close with no advantage going either way. It's the defensive adjustments made at halftime by Thibs as well as the increase in pressure and intensity that resulted in more turnovers leading to easy scores. This led to LeWade getting frustrated and making stupid mistakes and turnovers. That led to more Bull buckets and eventually LeWade getting pulled with 5 mins to go in the 4th.

I don't expect a similar result the next game, but I do expect Thibs to do what he's done all season. Scout the first half, fix during halftime, execute during second half. I also expect to see LeWade cave to frustration as they have all year when put in a pressured situation.
