Very true... The Hawks, Grizzlies, and Hornets won the first game of a series they ended up losing. I expect the Heat to come back big in the 2nd game... I just hope they don't.

difference is no one expected the Hornets to beat the Lakers any ways. Also Hawks and Grizz won the first game of their first series and went on to win those series.

Main difference is the Bulls just may outmatch the Heat.

None of those teams had HCA. And None had Chicago's defense.

they each also had 3 titles before really starting to use those post games. and each only went so much to the post game later in their primes, when they were off of their peak dominance. and many, many players have won titles while playing worse than non-post game lebron.

The hawks beat the bulls in game 1. Miami looked sluggish out there, they were tired and probably fighting off the hangover from all the partying after beating Boston. If they get blown out in game 2 then you guys may be onto something, until then, stop overreacting. It's a 7 game series.

    Not overreacting.

The Heat have YET to beat the Bulls and lose to them by a good margin tonight. All this "Hangover" crap better not be true or the Bulls are going to win this series in dominating fashion. Champions don't go out and party the night before a game 1 of the ECF.

The fact is as Charles even said...the Bulls aren't going to get any shorter by wednesday and their not going to lose 2-3 bench players to even the depth.

This. Lebron and Wade are party hogs, I'm pretty sure they spent the night before the game partying it up and getting wasted, sucks that they aren't dedicated to the game of bball but the two of them are so good they can just bum around and dominate. They'll probably settle down, get a good night's rest and then lock Rose up the next game.

Drose hit 3-7 3 pointers this game, his average during the playoffs is 0.254%. We'll see what happens next game, if they still win then maybe Chicago really is better than Miami. DOubt it though.

Yeah. thing is Drose could have a average game. If Rose goes 0-7 the Bulls still win by a comfy margin.

As has been said, the rebounding and defense for the bulls is there every night. That's not changing, so Wade and Lebron better hold off all the parties because every game they don't bring it they will lose.

Also where is the proof of them doing anything before this game? I doubt it, these guys didn't become the best by slacking off when it matters. It could just be that Thibs developed a good defense to slow these guys down and it looked like they weren't themselves because the Bulls played excellent defense.

that wasn't what primarily helped bulls win the game.. it was team defense, rebounding and bench scoring

They weren't the underdog, at least not in Vegas. Betting lines were Bulls -2, which sounds about right given the HCA. Anyone who thinks this series won't be close is delusional-- these teams are very similar, with the Heat having the offensive edge and the Bulls the rebounding edge (defensively they are almost identical and easily the top two teams in the NBA). Wed. will likely be close and one of the games in Miami will be a blowout for the Heat. Coinflip on who wins the series but I'm sticking with Heat in 6 or 7.

Your first take on the series....

I have to say, this was a pretty good start. For the Bulls, that is...

Your comments before the series started sort of lacked "sound basketball knowledge and reasoning." Ironic, isn't it? Your words, not mine. Just saying....

You're right. We shouldn't cancel the series, but we also shouldn't be ignorant and say things like "Heat are going to destroy them [the Bulls] and everyone knows it." We all know that isn't happening.

The Bulls have more than "a freaking chance" against the Heat. I think we all found that out tonight. We've also learned that the Heat, whether they and their bandwagon like it or not, will be in for a REAL fight in this series, and they and their bandwagon riders know it.

My opinion, this series is a push.
