OKC will be title contenders b/c they have SUPERSTARS (2 of them) and they're still growing. memphis does not.

Yet, Memphis had 2.5 blowout losses, and on their homecourt went 2-1 with 2 overtimes. (One with Durant only going 0-1 at the stripe off a technical, so please stop mentioning the 'if we had made a shot in game 4' after already being gifted a 3 off a call being incorrectly reversed through replay.)

regardless the fact remains that the great kevin durant and company needed 7 games to beat what many believe is an inferior team.

this is not sour grapes, it's more trying to put it in perspective. the thunder were about as close to being ousted from the playoffs as a team can be, and they managed to escape. the grizzlies will happily match up with them next year.

Blowing out the griz in game 7 is escaping? An even younger and less experienced (kendrick perkins-less) thunder were 1 rebound away from a game 7 with the lakers. The lakers went on to repeat as champions. Did the lakers escape the thunder? 2 years ago, an undersized, shorthanded rockets team took the eventual champion lakers to 7 games without both star players and our backup center. Did the lakers escape the rockets?

Stop making excuses. The grizzlies played their hearts out, but they just weren't good enough.

Arguing with 'what' about the Grizzlies is futile.

Random request: I can't think of the name of the actor sitting next to James Cromwell. It has bothered me since seeing him.

Because the Thunder are greener than green (including their coach). Hasn't this been said enough times? Their leads dogs are puppies (pretty good ones).

"The only team that I as a grizzlies fan worries about is the team that comes out of the east. Miami, Boston and the Bulls are going to be tough to win against.

I think in the west, I just don't see any team that can beat us."

if mayo got started early they could have made a game of it. also, gasol is slow, he's a legit post up threat on offense, but he is neutralized by today's fast bigs on D. he's a dinosaur. he needs to lose some weight.

the lakers needed 7 games to beat houston, the celtics needed 7 games to beat the bulls, BLah Blah Blah

Losers are losers, no matter what you say, if Memphis remains as it is, you are not going to be a contender

Not a good idea to raise an old thread back from the dead. Next week or maybe when the season starts, I suggest you create a Grizzlies thread and keep it updated. I'll be glad to contribute as the Grizzlies are one of the teams that intrigue me the most this season.
