I really liked Van Loon/DeNiro's lecture early on about earning success. Everything else was kind of predictable, but at least they didn't moralize. Audibly laughed and cheered when Morra had to get the last of the NZT in the penthouse.
Hanna, 6.5 out of 10. Felt like a shot-for-shot remake of Fifth Element, which I despised all the way through when I saw it back in '97. The girl's accent/diction was unbearable. But Cate Blanchett was as appealing and competent as always, actually a very convincing spy. The German villians were amusing caricatures and the Chemical Brothers score was nice packaging. Bana, as much as I loved him in Munich and Funny People, served no purpose whatsoever.
Tron Legacy: 6/10 - Visually a fun ride, sorta disappointed in the audio (would have expected more as a home theater demo), highlighted by Olivia Wilde's presence.
Olivia is responsible for all 6 of the points. I saw Hot Tub Time Machine last night. Much better than Cats! I'll see it again and again. It changed me. Deeply. Personally. I'm not who I was before. 12/10.
Boyz' N The Hood: 10/10 I ain't from Africa you from Africa, you African Booty Scratcher, LOLOLOLOL!!!!!
Funny thing . .. I been rewatching FarScape . .and Dren seems to be their spacey symonym for isht [*****] Rocket River
I saw that again for the first time in a long time about 3 weeks ago...still a great movie... Saw Bridesmaids: 8/10 Pretty fn funny...great one liners
I agree, see my post on it earlier. Adrien Brody really fell off after The Pianist it seems. Chain Letter 4/10 Not a very good horror film. Predators 6/10 Not a horrible sci-fi movie but not great either.
I finally was able to watch UP 9/10 - Haven't been that sad in a cartoon/animation since Grave of the Fireflies.
I was bummed bc I thought I was renting a comedy, and it was not a comedy. However, I liked the acting it in.
The Dilemma 7/10 - Had some very funny parts Limitless 8/10 - Really enjoyed this one I am Number Four 6/10 - Average Sci-fi movie, but somewhat entertaining
I streamed Oldboy off of Netflix the other night. It is a trip. I've give it a 9/10 if not for the dubbing (it's a Korean film) which is probably better than subtitles but some scenes come off really corny due to the dubbing. Definitely give it a solid 8/10 though. You will not see this one coming, at least I didn't. If you're tired of the same ole same ole, formulaic Hollywood stuff then you'll love this movie.
This movie was actually better than I thought it would be. 8/10. Great acting, and all of the characters were interesting so I had an emotional attachment to them all.
