It would be an issue of the Terrorist coming after you
    . . . and more importantly . .your family.

That is why spiderman wears a mask . .to protect Aunt Mae!

I thought it was a bad idea that these SEALs got national recognition in public. I think they should get awarded behind closed doors for their protection as well as their families' protection.

I'd want to capitalize on it, so I'd like to be able to disclose it professionally. But not for some corny ass book deal, maybe just a case officer gig at the CIA or something else with a desk, high-five figures and high security clearance. Not so sure about the security risk, either, even if I couldn't pay for bodyguards I imagine war heros have been outed before without much trouble.

Is it possible that they are under direct orders and that coming out publicly about anything would be a violation of those orders with serious consequences in military court?

Get paid, and not let anyone know about it?

I voted "no", but only because there's potential for my friends and family to become targets. If it were *just* me I had to worry about, then screw it. We all die, but we don't all get to live the life of a national hero.

Highly doubtful they could get in any trouble once their enlistment/commission was up.

What the OP fails to realize is that the people he is talking about would have been highly successful in any path they chose in life. If their desire was for money they would have pursued it originally.

You don't get to be a Seal without the full indoctrination of "Duty". There may some time limits on it, but I don't think any one of them would have any inclination to cash in. For one, any breach of security by one threatens the whole team. That's just not in their DNA.

If you do hear any 'leaked' information about them, it's just as likely disinformation. I would guess they all have deep background covers and the full weight of the US intelligence community covering there ass.

They and there families are probably on a nice R&R somewhere like Diego Garcia or American Samoa.

Yeah they would have. I am sure they will get cushy jobs in the dod or security consultants when they are done, but mike the situation ismaking 12mil/yr, snooki gets 32k for speaking.

You don't think a corporation or school would pay these guys 30K plus to come speak and lets not forget the endorsements, movie deals etc. You are talking about some serious coin. Plus the guy who comes out first will probably one to capitalize on it the most.

There is a difference between being successful and being SUCCESSFUL.

this makes me doubt you've ever had a personal relationship w/a SEAL... one of my closest friends was an OYK (Hellenic SEAL)- definitely a different kind of dude.

I'd use it as a reference source to get in on some mercenary action, big money to be made in that industry.
