Yup, shopping at department stores after work, ever since I decided to start wearing a coat and tie to my actual job. Similar to OP, not sure if being black has anything to do with it.

Who wears a blue polo(non dress shirt) with black slacks? that should be a crime! I would rather wear PJs.

Yes, I was shopping at Safeway and was wearing a free Nationals shirt I got for attending a game. The shirt was red and sponsored by Safeway, and as such it had a big SAFEWAY logo on the sleeve.

Dude, I do this all the time. My work wardrobe consists of 10 different colors of solid polos, which I either wear with khakis/brown shoes or black slacks/black shoes. In winter substitute polos with sweaters.

I hate tucking in shirts, so I stopped wearing dress shirts a few years ago. They also wrinkle a lot easier.

I do not look like a d******d, hence the fact that I am never pegged as a retail employee.

This also has never happened to me. Despite my Hispanic user name, I'm white AND balding if that makes any difference.

Dude, I hear you, but don't even go near the polo topic on this BBS. This whole site is one bizarro circle jerk of POF's, despite the obvious inferiority of that fashion choice.

I have been really burned by bringing this up before. :(

One time this old lady asked my friend a question like he worked in the store and he just went along with it and helped the old lady find what she was looking for. It made for some great laughs
