Do I lose my man card if I watch this movie? It's getting great reviews and a 91% on rottentomatoescom. I didn't think it was possible for women to be funny.
Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and watch a chick-flick with your old lady. If you make the choice of the movie, it's much less excruciating, kind of like picking water-boarding over a hot iron. For example: She would pick Hope Floats. But if I head that off with Knocked Up and The Wedding Crashers, her appetite for sweet googlies would be satisfied. This movie might qualify- it's packed with funny chicks.
Looks like they're trying to market it as a chick-flick with masculine (lowbrow) humor and appealing to both genders. I wonder if they might just fall between two stools and be too girly for men, and too crass for women.
I'd probably give it a shot. Kristen Wiig is right up there with Tina Fey as the funniest woman in show biz.
Yes. I think the answer to the question is YES. Looks like a wait-for-it-on-DVD for me... since it has too many girls in it... sort of like any Sandra Bullock movie (except Speed or Demolition Man). "so I have no problem"?
I don't find her funny at all. I've previously professed my hatred for one of her longstanding characters on SNL. Not a movie I'll see unless the wife actually wants to.
Seconded. I actually like her better than tina, at least onscreen. Tina is the more established writer, but wigg co-wrote this movie and may be closing the gap. She was on stu-beef last night and I enjoyed the interview, she's genuinely funny with out trying.
Kristen Wiig is probably the funniest woman actress out there, I would consider seeing it just for her
I'm right there with you. I find her terribly unfunny also. I did hear that they didn't put most of the funny scenes in the trailer and that was a problem. I think they're going to change up the trailer (but i heard this a month and a half ago.)
