Might not this best site to post this sense there are so many dudes here who probably don't care about how their living room looks but... I just moved into a new apartment and i like to set up my place as nice as possible, (see HTDV) but my new living room is real small and a lot of the furniture out there are huge and bulky, so they would look weird in my small space. anyone with the same situation have any ideas or pictures they would like to share?? I am mainly looking for sofa ideas.. i really would like a small modern sectional... My floor plan
what are the dimensions? And, no Mig, the stairs confuse me as well... I can't figure out if you go through the closet or the patio to get to them?
sorry, see if you can view this video <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HO75U9mBK50" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Judging by that video, they have the floor plans wrong. Looking at the pics in the OP, there should be an opening by the front door - on your right just after you walk into the apartment from the patio.
Take a look at Apartment Therapy. They had a small spaces contest earlier this year that may give you some ideas : http://community.apartmenttherapy.com/contests/smallcool/2011/entries
Do what I did- Cover your all of your walls with Rockets jerseys, championship t-shirts, posters, pennants, pictures, banners, and autographed paraphernalia.
That is the plan.. i'm going to mount the T.V above the fire place. My big concern is the couch situation because i want enough seating without having big bulky sofas.
Ha.. the couch below is what i actually have in there right now, its really perfect size if you have two but it is not comfortable at all..
White couches don't hide dirt and stains. We used to have white leather couches and even keeping those clean was tough. Having a fabric white couch would be even harder to maintain. You might want to go for black, tan or brown.
yeah i actually have the couch that i linked to.. it is hell to keep clean. The size is good but it could be longer and softer
oh sorry, I missed that post. My old roommate and I bought a black modern futon that was extremely uncomfortable, but it was only $150. To really get a good couch, you'll have to pay more than you did for your white couch and what we paid for ours. Also, modern couches never seem to be comfortable, but they definitely look nice. lol What was convenient about our futon was that it was great when company came so we had an extra bed. With a one bedroom apartment, you might want to either get a sleeper sofa, futon, or at least a large enough and comfortable enough couch if you expect guests & friends to stay the night occasionally. If your apartment doesn't have colored walls or even if it does, a modern area rug with some color and coordinating pillows might be a great way to make that living room a nice space. I haven't been to an Ikea in 10+ years, but I imagine that would probably be the best place to find a modern couch, you just may have to pay more than you did for your current one now.
yeah that is for sure, i known im gonna have to spend a little.. the couch i posted was actually in my room in my last apartment. I got rid of the other living room sofa so i just dropped this one in my new living room..
