He has gotten more than his fair share of criticism but idk if I agree with this. I think McGrady got alot more.....and it was well deserved. #justsayin
lebrons plan was to... 1- join 2 other all-star studs. 2- wait for the competition to get old and out of the way. 3- win a championship. ......thats pathetic
And the timer on this new era has begun as well....5-6 years from now Mia will be where Boston is now.....still with pretty good players but not what they were before.
im sure that there are some great players coming into the league for the next few seasons. but for the next 7-8 years you will be hearing a LOT about durant and westbrook, and even harden. at this point i can see all three of them getting into the hall of fame (yes even harden) if they win 3 or 4 championships together.
that is pretty pathetic and lazy. LBJ really only needed one other stud. which i guess that's what he has in miami. just still seems like he sold out on his hometown... wait that is exactly what he did. hopefully it's Dirk and Durant for the next three years before Griffin and Wall leave to Houston to join first time head coach Sam Cassell.
What's wrong with that? Even MJ used steps 2-3 to win his championships. The all-star studs he teamed with were brought in by his GM, but he still didn't start winning championships until the Lakers, Celtics, and Pistons got old.
the best part about that list is you can argue any of them to be a top 10 player even a top 5 player all time...lol. I guess greatness and winning really do go hand in hand...
Semi-related trivia: - This list could be further qualified as almost every NBA championship team since 1979 included Magic, Bird, etc. Out of these 31 champions, only 3 did not include one of those players: 1983 76ers (vs. Lakers); 2004 Pistons (vs. Lakers); and 2008 Celtics (vs. Lakers). Apparently the Lakers are the only team in the modern era to lose to a team without one of the above-mentioned legends. - This one is more common knowledge... During this same time period, only 8 different teams have won championships: Lakers (10), Bulls (6), Spurs (4), Celtics (4), Pistons (3), Rockets (2), Heat (1), 76ers (1). BTW, I just looked up these myself, so something could be wrong...
which is fine. since those are pretty much the key ingredients for a championship. dominant wing and dominant big. there are enough good players to make competition a bit even... but sticking 2.5-3 stars on only 'big market' teams kinda sucks the fun out of 'the drama' in nba basketball. ppl will just b watching in hopes that a certain team fails but will more or less know the outcome. anyway, lbj left his hometown area to rot and did it in douchebaggery fashion. if he had gone to Chicago or even NY to work with those teams ,then, (i dont know why but) i wouldve been okay with it.
You left out the alternative option one: 1a - Force a draft day trade to the league's premiere franchise, instead of actually working to build something with a team that wants to draft you.
as much as i hated to see them keep winning, its sad to see duncan and shaq go away. duncan has couple of years left, but it isn't duncan.
