obviously he still has a lot to learn. the guy is 22 and is still pretty raw in learning about how to control the pace of a game like a real superstar/PG should. i'm not saying he doesn't have his faults.

but you can see a lot of the times he does this is b/c his teammates do not want the ball. i remember 1-2 plays last night where westbrook gave up the ball to harden who had vasquez on him and harden just swung it back. or many times where the plays were for durant but durant couldn't get open off the screens. those were the only 2 options and they were shut down.

but you're right. there were also plays where he just put his head down and went straight w/o looking at other offensive options.

i don't think he is a real PG imo. just b/c he is at the PG position and racks up 7 assists do not mean he's a true PG. him and derrick rose are in the same mold: shoot-first guys who play the PG position. but you can be a shoot-first PG and become a great playmaker and hopefully that is the next step in his game (along with refinement of his jumper).

I dont see nothing wrong with how he plays.......As long as they're winning.... He isnt a pure point guard nor will he ever be.... They need his points more than they need his assists right now.... Whenever Harden decides to become a consistant 20 pt scorer, maybe the coaching staff will emphasize that Westbrook alter his game...Otherwise it gives them their best chance of winning right now

What's really got me wondering is how the "Big 4" guys are going to react tomorrow after playing 50+ minutes last night. It could end up being a very ugly game and a key role-player may end up having a big role. I'm thinking Arthur or Ibaka. Maybe Maynor or Sam Young. I have to believe KD/WB/Z-Bo/Gasol won't play their best and we could end up with a slopfest.

People who say the Thunder would be better off with a so-called "pure PG" have no idea what they are talking about. They absolutely need WB to take over games sometimes.

Ibaka will be a very good offensive player in a couple of years. Next season Harden will be more consistent and may even start. But we live in the present.

Everybody under 6'5 cant be Chris Paul or Steve Nash...But even they get you 20 pts when they need to...It just happens that OKC needs WB's 20 everynight...They need him to set a frantic pace ...Thats how they play and its worked thus far in a short period of time.....

So, where is the uproar like in the Thunder/Denver series with the missed basket interference over the refs reviewing and OVERTURNING a play incorrectly at the end of the game? (the Mayo/Harden out of bounds play)

iirc that was a clear sign that Stern wanted OKC to win it all...

in general when a team loses fans of said team usually blame the refs.

I was at the game so I didn't get a chance to really zoom in and see it but all I know is that it was reviewed and assumed that they made the right call.

Transplants, possibly a thunder hater or two, or somebody who likes to see justice and fair play. There could even, *gasp*, a few who dislike david stern. Mightn't there?

Maybe because it was a triple overtime classic. This game is already an instant classic, so maybe it is out of respect for all that was involved in such a rare game.

Uproar? The refs called it correctly the first time. Mayo jumped from out of bounds without re-establishing himself inbounds when he threw the ball off Hardin's head. Should have been OKC's ball but the refs missed it even after looking at replay.

Open the image in another tab if it doesn't show up. Mayo's right foot is on the line when he jumps for the ball.

But this game wasn't about the refs. We can all be thankful it was about the incredible shots, plays and lead changes.

Entice Westbrook into crazy mode - key to Griz's success tonight.

If KD shoots 25 times or more, I don't see how Griz would win.

I cringe evey time Stony Allen has the ball on a fast break situation.

memphis really needs a cushion going into the 4th. their bigs will be fatigued once the game gets there.

So awkward when you keep your fans standing while you cant buy a bucket

Westbrook needs to buy a clue

That wasn't a foul by Collison
