    Vernon Maxwell got 10 games for punching a fan in the face.

    Rodman got 11 for kicking a camera man in the face.

    5 games seems about right to me.

    The NBA wants the Bynum for Howard trade to happen. If they suspend Bynum for too long, that might discourage the Magic to accept a trade for him...

    10-15 games is way too harsh. I know everyone is upset about that dirty play about I think 5 games is a fair punishment. Maybe 7 or 8 games might be a better punishment but I think 5 games is good for now. I don't think he'll learn his lesson but if he does anything close to a cheap shot like that than it should be an automatic 10 games.

    Considering he got 2 games for basically the same thing on Beasley, 5 games is nothing for a 3rd time offender. I guess it will take another(or more like 5 or 6 or 7+) hard foul err cheap shot to get a serious punishment. Oh well!

    I'm not sure this is really consistent thinking.

    Also, you realize this is the 3rd very similar unnecessary foul right? So 10 games is too harsh for your 3rd time but "anything close" to this foul again should be instant 10 games? Where is the logic?

    You buncha Nancies. Five games is plenty -- harsh in my opinion. JJ isn't exactly dead.. he got up and was just fine. You guys are acting like he ended someone's season.

    Bynum was reckless, a 3-time offender, and he could have very easily ended Barea's season. I wish the league would have sent him a sterner message than a measly 5 games.
