Obama turns...away. <iframe width="640" height="510" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ET6rOBSGCms" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I read that today...i know he's here in Texas. On a side note, on the way to work this morning, on the tollway heading south towards downtown, they had the northbound side closed up to NW Hwy for someone pretty important...tons of motor cycle & cop cars for two escalades...first thought was someone was visiting Bush, don't know who though...I have no clue who it was, but someone very important...
Guess it wasn't such a good idea to piss all over the POTUS after all? P.S. basso, how many times have you broken the standing rule about having D&D material in your signature? Stop disrespecting the moderators.
Rick Perry said Texas doesn't need the Federal Aid. He turned down alot of it over the last 2 years. LOL. He wanted Texas to leave the union. They should make Perry BEG on his knees.....kiss Obama's ring.....lol.
I know we all would love to rag on basso and perry BUT seriously, do these fires warrant federal aid? Is Obama actually playing politics with people's livelihood? Or is Perry asking prematurely just to make Obama look like a baddie?
i wouldn't say they warranted federal aid at this point. but that's just purely an opinion based on other disasters. obama just authorized federal aid for other states that don't vote democrat so yes this is a stupid basso thread that i should know better to post in
http://blog.chron.com/txpotomac/201...or-denying-perrys-texas-wildfire-aid-request/ I love how they're trying to play the "he's picking on a red state" card... while Alabama was given disaster level relief funds (Texas has already got other federal relief funding, just not the "disaster" level stuff) despite McCain carrying the state by a mere 23 points... compared to Texas, where McCain took it by 13.
well all that being said i saw something in the paper that it has rained in Houston in the last six months as much as the sahara in the same time period
I remember one night in the middle of Nevada where I could see four major fires from camp. Ranches and cows were being burned up with regularity. The horizon glowed like a nuclear war. One guy remarked, "Hey, let's go ahead and give it to the Constitutionalists tomorrow morning and go home." You guys give lip service to secession and favor a party that wants to cut trillions from the discretionary budget (which is where this money comes from) but you can't handle some range fires? Perry and the Texas Repub Party thumb their noses at the Feds and now whine about FEMA money? Those trillions the House GOP wants to cut have to come from somewhere, so we might as well start here. Besides, it's against Randian philiosophy to have a bunch of ranchers dependent on the government dole as soon as a little adveristy strikes. Denying the funds is for their own good and might inspire them to not be such a drag on society. Welcome to the GOP future.
Yes, it's funny that Rick Perry talked about the Federal govt. taking care of Texas. Rick Perry wanted the Federal govt. to "take care" of Texas. Those were his words. What a hypocrite.
Karma is a b****! Hey Perry, don't you have like billions in a rainy day fund? Sounds like it's time to tap that.
Hey, if Perry doesn't need federal funding for education and teachers, forgoes federal funds for comprehensive sex education and Planned Parenthood, cut funding for Medicare and Medicaid, why would he need federal money for a little thing like a few brush fires?
how nice. Some people and small towns may actually need help, but you are too busy rejoicing and gloating in your r****ded political one sided beliefs. stay classy
