poll this! mavs of course. dirk needs a ring. kidd is awesome. terry proved himself over and over. barea is a tough little puerto rican bamf
I hope that it is Chicago-Memphis but if it is Dallas-Miami, I'd have to root for Dallas. Who cares if they win it all? Rather them than Princess James.
My worst case Finals at this point is Thunder-Heat. I suppose I'd root for OKC in that match-up, but I don't want Benett to win a ring. If the Mavs make it, I don't have a problem rooting for them. When the Rockets are eliminated, I switch to rooting for the remaining Texas teams. This year, there's an exception for Battier's Grizzlies. I hope they win it all.
I will root for the Mavs. I absolutely despise the Heat, Lebron and Bosh in particular. On the other hand, I absolutely respect what Dirk and Kidd have done in this league and wouldn't mind seeing them get a ring.
I was thinking about this last week. Unfortunately, I'll have to root for the Mavs. I absolutely loathe the Mavs -- but I don't want LeBron to ever get a ring. Ever. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
Heat for sure. I don't hate LeBron for going to the he Heat. He was a free agent. He knew he would never get past the Celtics by staying in Cleveland. Screw Dallas and Cuban.
Mavs. If for nothing else, I'm not a fan of the young superfriends model and I'm hoping it doesn't prove fruitful. So help us if that becomes the trend. It'll encourage top notch players to make the league even more lopsided than it already is. It may eventually become a farm league until they move to the handful of preferred destinations. If you want a current preview, look at the eastern model of the teams making the playoffs. It's so dang top-heavy that the bottom half looks like a joke. I don't know about you guys but, it's not fun to watch a majority of the games throughout the season being trashy until the 2nd round when superfriends teams meet. I cringe at the thought of this being the future model of the league. I like the western model of games. Majority of the teams are competitive and can win on any given night in the regular and post season and, the teams are going at it until the end of the season. Upsets are possible from the bottom in the playoff rankings. It all makes for more exciting games. All that and I always appreciated Kidd's game.
I would go into the series claiming to be rooting for neither, but based on how I reacted to the Lakers series (when I made the same claim going in) I'd be a Mavs fan by halftime of Game 1.
That's not a hard question at all. I don't hate the Heat. They're not a rival team of ours. Why would I root against them if they played the Mavs?
how can you cheer for a team that once eliminated us from the playoffs? and did it in a heartbreaking way? we were ROBBED that year goddamit.
all year I've been cheering for two teams: The Rockets Whoever is playing the Heat. That will continue... (and if I was a betting man, this would have been a very expensive year )...
Clearly some of y'all have forgotten about this series: http://www.clutchfans.net/game.cfm?gameID=2766 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaYTyqWtFw8&feature=related <object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/PaYTyqWtFw8?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/PaYTyqWtFw8?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="390" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> I never want the Mavericks to get a ring.....ever. While the Heat will probably win a few the next few years, the Mavs opportunity is now and I hope they don't get it.
