I used to drink redbull a lot in college but i think i built up a tolerance because it got to the point where one did nothing. I was just wasting money. had the rockstar Guava a few times...not bad. I rarely touch soda or energy drinks anymore, but on the rare occassion when coffee isnt cutting it or i'm not feeling like it i will have Venom's Rattler..not bad. But like other's have said, i'd be careful about using them too much.
Rockstar Recovery Orange. I first discovered this in Cali a few weeks ago, and over the weekend came across it for the first time here. Totally made my week to see it at my local convenience store. It tastes amazing and is low calorie. The lemon flavor of this is also pretty badass. Apparently there is also a grape one but I haven't come across it yet. I'm also a big fan of Monster Khaos, but it is full of sugar.
I know what all my doctors told me when they found out I drank Monsters. QUIT DRINKING THEM Seriously....I use to down at least two a day(along with at least 4 other sodas) up until my aeorta ruptured. I didnt have any from then until a month or so after I got out of the hospital, felt a little tired, so I drank one.....and that triggered a irregular heartbeat which put me right back into the ER that night. Havent had one since. God knows Im not one to sit here and preach at you about bad habits...but trust me on this one, at your(and especially Behad's) ages, yall dont want to encourage heart issues. Knowing that you are seconds from death is scarier than anything you can imagine
Yea, it is a path I know I don't want to go down. I'll be 38 this July and haven't had any heart issues although I know I need to eat healthier. I tried this yesterday and also today and this is probably worse than chugging one of the energy drinks: Drank 1 big glass of orange juice (equivalent of 2 cups of 8 ozs each) Drank 1 big glass of Milo's sweet tea (again equivalent of 2 cups of 8 ozs each) Drank 1 aluminum can of Mello Yello (12 ounces, I think) Drank the equivalent of 2 cups of instant coffee - black, no milk or sweeteners That is probably too much caffeine but I did the same thing this morning in addition to running 2 miles beforehand. And about an hour ago or so, I was yawning a little bit. Maybe I didn't have enough caffeine, LOL.
Thanks R2K. Nothing better than first-hand experience. I know that a couple weeks ago when I drank a (small) Red Bull, my heart rate went through the roof about 10 minutes later, I got the worst stomach ache ever, and then I was puking Red Bull acid and stomach acid for 3 straight hours. Seriously, I used to scoff at people who scolded me for drinking them, but I NEVER want to experience that again. My body just can't handle them anymore, even in moderation. Which sucks, because I love the taste of Red Bull. Feeling good is obviously more important.
I remember a few years back when I was at my peak in nightlife DJing, doing 3-4 nights a week, I would down 3 redbulls a night, since I didn't drink alcohol. My tolerance was all kinds of effed up. Now that I've moved on and outta the nightlife scene, I rarely touch the stuff. I don't always drink Redbull, but when I do I get it with cranberry. PS: That Rockstar Orange is awesome, had one the other night on a longgg late night drive. It tasted like tang. Watered down albeit, but still good. Overall I've dropped from 6-10 redbulls a week to now maybe at MAX 1 energy drink of some sort every 2-3 months. Usually the black coffee at work along with a healthier diet and working out has kept my energy waaaaaay up.
Too much caffeine? How about too much sugar??? That OJ is loaded with sugar. If I drank that daily I'd be obese in about 2 months or less.
This, as my last post with the pics and a link to a review of it. I love me some Rehab. Getting one on my way to work in about an hour.
I had a energy drink this morning and I was shaking It was no bueno! never again! Anybody recommend any brands of some healthy tea?
After past health issues, the last thing I need are energy drinks. I used to see guys that were really out of shape at one company I worked for drinking 3 or 4 cans of the stuff over a few hours like they were soft drinks. What's even worse is that many of those cans of Rockstar and Monster are 2 or 3 servings each - so you're getting like 160-240mg of caffeine per can. Anyway, I've been through my "young and dumb" phase of life and take things more in moderation now. Just saying be careful to those of you that think you're invincible in your 20's because you're 40's will eventually come calling. lol.
truth hurts bro, we aint young anymore. The last year counted as 5 for me, so dont feel bad, Im older than you now.
Admitting it doen't make it hurt any less. I know I'm getting older. And I do a decent job of taking care of myself. I quit smoking years ago, I eat better, and while I don't really "exercise", my job keeps me walking a couple of miles a day. Yes, I know these drinks are bad for me. But I am gonna have one every morning. Somethings gotta take me down, it might as well be something I enjoy. In two years I'm gonna throw a huge 50th birthday party. Everyone on this board over the age of 40 is invited!
