From what I've read a prisoner mistakenly released the real name of the courier during interrogation. Who brought in all those people into these "prisons" in the first place? It was Bush, so you have to give him credit for rounding up a whole bunch people who may or may not have had links to terrorists groups. Nothing Obama did directly lead to finding OBL, it just happened that during his administration useful information came out. Most of the credit should go to the interrogator who got the guy to slip up and the intelligence team that zeroed in on the couriers leading to the assassination. I think Obama this week has been trying to play up the difficulty of this decision to go through with the operation. I think they knew with 99% assurance that OBL was there, they had rented out a house in the neighborhood as a stake out, also they had satellite images showing facial recognition. I'm sorry but this was an easy call. (I don't agree with the kill order but still going after him was the easiest decision ever!!)
Yeah, you do have a point. However, the level-headed, humble yet confident leadership by Obama through this embodies the type of President he is. I wonder how this picture would look if Bush was still President? I suspect the photo would look very different. Bush would probably be sitting in the center of the room basking in the defining moment of his presidency, and Brig-General Marshall Webb would be relegated to the stool off to the side. Secondly, I wonder if Bush would have released the Bin Laden death photos? Obama's decision to not release the photos was probably one of the best examples of practical, well thought-out decision making for national security, and display of confident leadership by a recent president. The difference is ego.. Obama doesn't need to be an "in your face" type of leader. His calm, collected approach to leadership exudes confidence, more so than someone who feels they must constantly remind everybody who's in charge. Not many men in history in a position of enormous power, much less the President of the United States, have displayed these characteristics as well as Obama.
You guys are looking way too deep into this picture. Obama is not sitting at the table because he arrived late. He was golfing. End of story.
