Eeveryone got all giddy about Durant's performance against Denver when he played insane. This series is proving why he is not the best player in the NBA like some have claimed. 23% against Allen is pathetic. He couldn't get the ball for most of the time down the stretch. Sure people will blame Westbrook but Durant couldn't free himself from Allen. When Durant did get the ball he ended up taking long contested fadeaway 3's.

There is no way Kobe, Lebron, Wade, or Dirk is getting denied the ball down the stretch by a guy that is 6 inches shorter than them.

I've always thought that some players are Teflon stars.... seemingly immune to criticism no matter what. KD is definitely turning into one of those. He truly looked passive coming down the stretch today. Completely unacceptable.

Thats what great players do, when they're not shooting well they impact the game in another way. Zach did just that tonight.

I think Durant needs to get tougher it looked like he was scare near the end of the game.

Tony Allen played him tough and Durant backed down couldnt handle the defense Allen was putting on him.

Yup I mean it's like people want to automatically blame Westbrook. OKC needs Westbrook to take shots to even win. I think he took too many jumpers but he and Durant both were bad down the stretch but most of the blame is going to Westbrook.

I just don't get how anyone can say Durant is the best player in the NBA.

As you and many others pointed out he struggles against physical play. I'm kind of shocked the soft word isn't thrown out when talking about him like it is with certain other players. When went off against Denver he was taking it to the rim shooting flooters and everything. Today he was just taking deep contested 2's and 3's down the stretch or he was just sitting around watching Westbrook

The reason people isnt calling Durant soft because hes a nice guy, and because of that people want to see him win. They give him a pass because hes so likeable, but I want. Bottom line he was soft at the end of the game.

Don't worry. Durant is still in the honeymoon phase and like it or not his team has always met or exceeded expectations.

Honestly, I believe westbrook was terrified that if he had drove the lane (a requirement to draw defenders away from KD) he was going to cause a turnover.

The real goat in the game was Westbrook's shaky handles in traffic.

Some of it is westbrooks fault but it was more the grizzlies defense that was dictating to the thunder what they were getting.

Majority of Laker fans are fairweather fans. Its a fake city, I used to live there. Great place with some great people, but majority of people there are fake. That is why they are unable to hold a football team.

    For the playoffs

    Kevin Durant - 30.4 ppg 47% shooting 7 rebs
    Pau Gasol - 13.4 ppg 42% shooting 8 rebs

Great comparison you made there buddy. Not to mention you said you don't blame Pau Gasol for sucking because he is getting booed. What type of soft **** is that.

Where did I agree with you that he sucked?I said you just can't blame him and its cowardly to boo him. Watch the last 3 minutes of the last game and tell me what happened?

i live in socal for basically most of my life. the real laker fans are as hardcore and passionate as anybody. i think you get the perception of the bandwagoners through celebrities or people who haven't lived in the city and trying to hop on the wagon b/c it's the "cool" thing to do.

they sell out games even when they didn't repeatedly go deep in the playoffs. that's a sign of a real fanbase. like the knicks, warriors and teams like that who continue to get a lot of fans to the games even when they struggle.

You're comparing Durant and Gasol which is stupid. Durant struggled down the stretch against Tony Allen while Gasol has struggled all playoffs. He was touted as the best big man in the NBA and he's playing way below average now.

If I was at the game I wouldn't boo Gasol because I'm not that type of person but I don't care or blame the fans that did boo him. They paid good money they can boo them. Gasol is making millions of dollar so them booing him is no excuse for him playing like ****.

Bumping this thread for today. Who do you guys think, out of these two teams, has the best shot at taking down the Mavericks?

I don't think either can take out the Mavs if Dallas keeps shooting and playing defense at their current level.
