les has won 2 rings; cuban has zero. les is just as passionate; he's just too old to be going around like this. i rarely see owners as old as les attend games regularly like he does. if tmac and yao were healthy, he probably may have had one more ring to wear.
Why? Les has two Championships, Cuban has none, and they both bought teams with superstars already in place. And say what you will about Les, but he would have been shrewd enough to re-sign Nash. How many rings does Dirk/Nash win if Cuban doesn't mess that up? And lastly, the way Les handled the negotiations for a new arena was textbook. Nope, Les has proven to be a great owner, while Cuban hasn't nothing on his resume that even comes close to what Alexander has accomplished.
Les was handed a gift. He had a championship team when he bought it. Team performance under him after Hakeem;s decline has been downright pathetic. Rockets playoff record in last 10 years is something to laugh at.
Les is just as passionate? Mark Cuban, despite being a complete dickbag, is one hell of a owner who actually treats his franchise like a basketball team. Les has made a lot of questionable moves over the past.
is it his fault? the guy has been willing to get superstars (barkley, pippen, tmac, and paid yao). if everything was right, we would have been better. who could predict pippen would be quitten? or tmac and yao would be as injury-prone as they are? it's not like houston has been a spot where stars want to come. we've had the stars. they jsut never got it done.
And Cuban wasn't handed a gift? Cuban bought a team with two future MVPs, Les only had Dream. And, once again, Cuban let Nash slip through his fingers, something Les would have never let happen.
Take every bad decision Les has ever made, add them up, and they still don't compare to letting Nash get away.
Y'all wouldn't wanna see Stern hand Cuban that trophy? Look, I'm not a Mavericks fan or (or hater for that matter) anything...but lmao if you made Stern do THAT??!?!? hahahaha
There is no doubt that Jordan is better than Kobe but let's not act like Jordan didn't have a beast of a team. The Bulls won 55 games after Jordan left which was only 2 fewer than what they won when he was there. Do you think the Lakers could have won 55 without Kobe this year? Jordan is the greatest of all time but he had a lot around him.
yup. Cuban made Dallas a destination for big name free agents. the Mavericks sucked big time before he was owner. For Les. He inherited the team Charlie Thomas and Steve Patterson built. Then when he won two titles he changed the freaking logo and colors.
And look where Dallas is at and look where we are at. The moment Cuban set foot in Dallas. He turned that team into a 50+ win team for the last 10 years. Although he failed to win a championship, he didn't stop making his team competitive. He came close to winning a championship, but some bias officiating changed all of that. His team were the favorites to win in 2007, but a horrible matchup costs everything. Don't forget Les tried to move the Rockets.
Just curious, how did Les handle the negotiations for the new arena? I live in Sacramento but love the Rockets so i want the Kings to stay for obvious reasons.

Because Cuban has had a top ten player who's managed to stay healthy. If Dirk has the foot/leg injuries and not Yao, we'd be in the playoffs and Dallas wouldn't
The problem is, a prime and healthy Yao or a prime and healthy McGrady would impact the floor a lot more than Nowitzki. We had both Yao and McGrady but couldn't get past the first round even after several opportunities. Granted, we could have won the 2004 series against Mavericks (ironically) if a few calls were made right, but it didn't stop the fact that our team has been abysmal besides Yao and McGrady. I'm not saying Les is a horrible owner, but compared to Cuban? I'll have Cuban anyday. Les tried to relocate the Rockets. Whereas Cuban actually vocally speaks up for his team whenever he feels cheated (granted, that's very often.) You could argue Cuban won the series for Dallas against us by complaining to the league office about Yao's moving picks.
I've hated Cuban for being, well, Cuban, the owner of the Mavs. But that's mostly because he is a rival. I had been wishing that it was Cuban who purchased the Astros from uncle D, so that should tell you how much I appreciate him as an owner.
