Read the post he responded to again.

t_mac1 responded to a post claiming Dirk has never disappeared in the playoffs, which is obviously (as Dirk would say) a false claim.

I think you are right. I never want to see Lebron win a ring.

i never liked jordan but no way would he (prime or his later years) have let that game slip away in the 4th and only finish with 17 points.

the difference is kobe has played the same # of seasons as jordan (including the wizards). and hes still going and has been with a broken finger.

skills wise, jordan is better. but again, kobe is a close 2nd.

He did in the 98 Finals, when his back was jacked:

Exactly. Jordan shot less than 40% from the field in his last playoffs run at age 35 but he found a way to win it for his team.

Skills wise, Kobe is superior. But it's about so much more than just skillset.

kobe played awful in the final game last year too but they won the game and he still got his credit. it wouldn't matter pau played poorly if kobe played like jordan. and kobe's losing to dirk while jordan beat the likes of bird and malone.

that's not true. i think jordan was more talented and more skilled. there's a reason why he came in the league averaging 28 ppg while kobe was on the bench.

kobe's marginally better at pure shooting. that's about the only thing kobe's better than jordan.

Incredible. How many people would have guessed the Mavs would be one game away from sweeping the Lakers?

.... and while this is happening in front of our eyes people still have the audacity to even put him in the conversation with MJ

i think the mavs were up 3-0 on portland one year and had to win it in 7. the mavs would certainly be the team to blow a 3-0 lead and the lakers seem to be the team least likely to be fazed by a 3-0 deficit and most likely to gain psychological momentum if they somehow made it say, 3-2. but i want to see the lakers lose.

If it was only that simple. Kobe was barely 18 when he entered the NBA. MJ was 21. MJ wouldn't have averaged 28 ppg as a rookie if he entered the NBA 3 years earlier.

Name the skills and talents where MJ had a clear advantage over Kobe? I'd like to explore your take.

Most of the time, people mistakenly use skillset as the final arbiter when trying to argue Kobe is equal to MJ.
