A member of the Avengers makes a cameo in the movie.. Maybe there was more but I couldn't see much, 3D isn't so great....
Totally have no interest in this movie. <iframe width="853" height="510" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cIbgPxFWSGc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
so despite the solid reviews you will go ahead and judge based on a 30 second clip and not have any background of how that scene was set up? thanks for sharing.
When it comes to fantasy/superhero flicks, critic reviews are pretty useless for me. Always go with the audience reviews and it gives me a good idea of what to expect. Saying that, I will use critic reviews over audience reviews when dealing with artsy movies.
yeah, actually it is. 80% overall critics. exactly. A fantasy/superhero movies typically have to be handicapped when reading reviews. Ironman & DarkKnight are 2 that hit it out of the park but those are not nearly as fantastical as Thor. Heck Batman Begins, which is widely considered a pretty good superhero film, got 60% top critics
Just saw it. Well-paced, great action movie, great superhero movie (it actually -felt- like a superhero movie at times). Great battles, Asgard is awesome, Loki is awesome. Agree with the reviews that the whole romance subplot (which is thankfully minimal) was stretched. But you know what? I don't really care about that. It's a dude movie. Also: Hemidall is freaking badass. The cameo was cool. Sif is hotness. Easter Egg Spoiler I caught then just verified online- Doctor Strange's Eye of Agamotto made a quick appearance. Lastly- not sure when you guys are going to learn your lesson about feeding the trolls. The ignore list is handy.
Fast Five last week, Thor this week, Priest next week Looks like the blockbuster season has begun! I have always watched 3D movies @ AMC 30... could I be going somewhere more high-tech? upscale? it's about 15 or 18 dollars per adult at AMC 30 for 3D movies
To me, that hospital scene is the only memorable thing about this otherwise pretty bla super hero movie. Doesn't aspire to anything and is pretty run of the mill. Should be called, "Thor goes to Dennys."
I saw it tonight. I thought it was really well done. This is coming from someone that never read the Thor comics and knows nothing about the Avengers.
