That is interesting and didn't realize that people could actually enter it. Isn't there supposed to a black rock inside that is related to the story of Abraham? Also I know that non-Muslims are not allowed into Mecca. I know you said you were no longer a practicing Muslim but would some Muslims considered sacrilegious for non-Muslims to see the pics of video of the inside of the Kaaba?
The black rock is suposed to absorb the sin of humanity, hence why it's black. As for photographing the inside, yes I'm sure many more conserative muslims are unhappy.

From what I hear, the King and his crew go in once in a while to clean it? The black stone is actually located on one of the corners of the Kaaba from the outside.
