I just read that this will make Matt Barnes the starter. Lakers are in deep trouble if Barnes gets extended minutes and continue playing like a dog.

Heh, he wasn't trying to hold him up or be nice or anything... He was just being a deliberate douche when he held him, sort of mocking him, and possibly trying to make it look like he didn't hit him that hard. Look at how he walked off without a care in the world.

Normally i would agree here. I really dont like Dallas much. But, ive grown tired of The Lakers expecting to win, and everyone else expecting them to also. So, time to throw a wrench into. Dallas in 6 (I hope).

I think this game will be a blowout for the mavs. Kobe will try to take over and will probably light it up but whenever he does this they normally lose

I've become a Mavs convert for this series. It's great to see them dominating the Lakers and shattering the City of L.A.'s hopes for a threepeat. Artest is a moron and I'm glad he's not a Rocket anymore. The Lakers are stupid for getting rid of Farmar and Vujabitch. Their pesky defense could've really helped. Steve Blake is absolute garbage, terrible player.

Why is he awesome? There's nothing respectable about his unsportsmanlike behavior.

After some consideration, I disagree. I think the Lakers will come out and play with more focus and cohesion because Artest won't be there. It will be a relief. The Lakers (including Kobe himself) know they can't win with Kobe dominating the ball. They will make a concerted effort to feed Pau and Bynum to get Chandler into foul trouble. Pau has to step it up big time or Odom must have a superb game on offense for the Lakers to win.

I read somewhere today that Pau is going through a very difficult breakup with his girlfriend and that is why his effort is lackluster.

are you serious? shouldn't he play better b/c this is his only way to release himself?

anyway, i expect the lakers to have their best game in game 3.

Why is that? Not everybody reacts the same way. Tracy McGrady had off-court personal issues that affected him negatively. People like him and Pau aren't mentally tough like Kobe, who set the gold standard for focus during major off-court issues.

this is the playoffs. tracy had that off-court issues during the injury-plagued year and we weren't in contention.

most athletes are way too focused during the playoffs anyways and a lot of the times they neglect everything around them. you're always around year teammates and coaches watching videos, game plan... you don't have time to do anything else basically.

I predict Kobe will shoot no more than 5 shots in the first half just to make a point.

Players do stupid stuff all the time. But someone who auctions off their championship ring to charity, is going to donate at least half his contract next season to charity, and is definitely the funniest person in the NBA by far has my vote for awesome.

I guess you don't know much about human nature. People (including NBA players) are wired differently. Pau and McGrady aren't like Kobe and others. You can't just generalize and says it's "the playoffs". Some let personal problems affect their job performance because they can't compartmentalize.

I won't be surprised to see quick fouls early on for Chandler, Kidd and Nowitzki early on in Game 3. Bill Simmons had a great point on his podcast saying that the league indirectly affects the playoff games by telling refs what they should look at more carefully, especially as a series progresses. Watch Kidd not be able to stay aggressive and body up on Kobe. And then Kobe will have his first dunk in this series.

The Lakers are getting outplayed for simply the fact that they are being lazy on defense. They are letting these players beat them.

Gasol is trash and hes not been the player of years past, The LAkers are not that talented contrary to what people think, they have one superstar with a few all stars. they are not the heat by no means. and I hate the heat.

the bench is atrocious for the lakers. blake is a ****ing idiot. like i have no idea how hes getting paid the same contract as d-rose for being such a ****ing sorry scrub. brown doesnt use his athleteicsm at all to play defense and walton? hows hes in the league is a question. i feel the youngsters in caracter and the other guy would be really useful because thy can at least keep up and speed the tempo up when bugrea comes in.

lakers need to win the next two, and they should be good
