Yeah, from what I've seen I think Vogel is a good coach. He comes away a bit of a d-bag though. Well, d-bag might be the wrong word, but watch a view interviews of Vogel and you'll understand what I mean. He's crazy overconfident. He's like the opposite of Stan Van Gundy. Might not be a bad thing, though I have a hard time believing a team can buy into such a coach for an extented period of time.
Vogel means Bird in German. Larry is not going to let his German b*stard son leave. We are clearly being leveraged by Hot Dog Bird.
Vogel benefited from an easier schedule. Under Vogel only two wins in regular season against teams with winning records (.500 or above). They were actualy flatlining and being the same old Pacers at the second half of Vogel's run before the Bulls made them look better than they were in the playoffs.
Decent coach but not my cup of tea. Rockets interviewing anyone involved in the NBA at one point or another.
he ran a pretty good motion offense in the series which is our bread and butter. Also got the team playing pretty good defense under him.
It has to be more than 2 wins. They beat Atlanta, Chicago, Portland, Boston, and Knicks in the 2nd half(Vogel) of the season.
It has to be more than 2 wins against 0.500 under Vogel. They beat Atlanta, Chicago, Portland, and Boston, Knicks(twice) in the 2nd half(Vogel) of the season. All those teams are playoff teams and over 0.500. You might be thinking about the 1st half under O'Brien that lost to the Hawks, Wizards, Grizzlies, 76ers, Rockets, Thunder, Bucks, Hawks, Magic, Jazz, Suns, etc.
There is no Phil Jackson or Popovich coming through those doors. I just hope we still have CD. Thabeet, Hill, Patterson need to keep working with our unofficial big man coach over the summer.
I think this means that Morey is trying to make Larry Bird look good, by bringing in his boy, as a Relationship Building maneuver to soften him up, so we can get Granger for cheap. but i don't know. Larry Bird might have the best poker face in the entire GM community, and he probably hates anyone who worked for Danny Ainge. I hope Morey knows what he is doing.
Exactly. And they did it despite losing a good player in Mike Dunleavy. You gotta give Vogel credit, he did help the team do what they couldn't do under Jim O'Brien, WIN. I think he'd be worth a shot. Doubt he'll be as good as Adelman but young, experienced as an assistant and positive head coaching experience (though not alot).
