i don't think morey thinks skilled size is overrated. but in general the market will ignore someone shorter who gets the job done (i.e. a chuck hayes) and overrate someone just because they're tall, whether they actually use that height to do anything or not.

Dallas pays a back up big (Haywood) $11 million a year and they also pay Chandler a staggering amount. Don't forget Dirk gets paid alot. Cuban loves having at least 3 7footers and I don't know when he's had less than 2 while the Rocket's go season after season without 1 that actively contributes. Brad Miller might as well be a billboard.

This series basically gave the nba title to the Miami Heat if Dallas can close out the Lakers. Sorry Kobe fan, but we're witnessing the end of an era.

They can replace Kidd right after next year. Deron's next season is a player option. Not like they'd be in a rush either with Beaubois and Barea right behind Kidd.

Thing is these guys are not playing old, and when you win championships affording certain players no longer becomes a problem.

They will also get all the bandwagon FAs that flock to a championship team. Meanwhile...if the Lakers were to come back and embarrass the Mavs then who knows? They could have a mini-firesale and could face a set back.

Yup. Well that, and a quick point guard who can score. You can make a series of it if you have one or the other. You can win a series against LA if you have both.

The Rockets did the same thing, back when Yao was healthy. Brooks + 7'6 in the paint makes things difficult for Kobe and Co.

Still....Lakers are still the defending champs. Can't count them out yet.

Wrong Crawford. It's Dan Crawford who will be a ref for the next game in this series.

Since 2001, the Mavs playoff record is 54-59. In games where Dan Crawford was officiating, they are 2-16.

Affording max players is a problem, no matter team you have. Deron going to Dallas is just as ludicrous as Howard going to the Lakers, especially since there's no freaking way Dallas gives Chandler less than 9 million this year. Besides, I have no idea why Dallas is the one that's going to dominate things, when Kobe is still around and just as old as Dirk, there's Durant, or the Grizzlies, or heck the Spurs trying again. I really have no idea why you think the Mavericks NOW are going to dominate things, as opposed to the last three or four years.

Lol, artest is such a dumb ass.

Love seeing the lakers fade. I hate tyker macs but I'd rather see them best the lakers and then lose in the next series.

I'd rather have Chuck Hayes than completely useless trash like Dampier or Diop (who's doing what for the Bobcats again?). Cubans' finally gotten actual good size as opposed to the trash 7 footers he kept using, and it's made a visible difference.

Because Dirk is still in his prime? People seem to be forgetting that. The Spurs are done for, their window is closed. Timmy and Manu are past their primes, and Kobe is nearing the end of his own as this series is showing.

Wasn't someone making fun of Charles not too long ago for saying Dirk is currently better than Kobe? Kobe is playing with absolutely no sense of urgency. Only frustrated frowney faces for him. I hope he steps it up.
