I agree with this; along with solid defense and maybe an unstoppable scorer/simply a fairly good player who causes matchup problems (mostly at point guard).

All of the teams that have given the Lakers trouble have either (or) a decent frontline; good team defense; aggressive post play; and/or good jump shooting team.

In what world is Bynum + Gasol taller/longer than Chandler + Haywood. Laker's don't have that advantage.

Well if anyone can come back from 0-2 it's Kobe and Phil Jackson.

I really really hope the Mavs do not win the series. I'm thinking long-term here, beating the Lakers is a surefire trip to the Finals where anything can happen. Winning a championship could spark a dynasty. I rather the non-division outer state team do that.

I don't know why people even mention size doesn't matter? Last time I checked:

    Dirk: 7-0
    Chandler: 7-1
    Haywood : 7-0

I think Lakers just got served because of size. And a fast little 5-10 guy's penetration.

Is it true that Morey has said size is overrated?

What stood out from me from this game, besides the play of Barea, was how well Chandler and Haywood, especially the latter, protected the paint. Sure, Bynum got a few shots, but overall, they did a tremendous job.

Lesson learned Morey, be ready to pay a premium for big men.

Why can't the Thunder beat the Mavs? I'm not as enthusiastic about Dallas winning as everyone else seems to be, but I don't think it would spark a Mavs dynasty, of all things. That's an old team, after all.

can't decide if artest should be suspended. it wasn't that violent, but it was just so ridiculously blatant and not part of some heated moment or anything that it feels like he has to be suspended. but like someone else said, that might be a good thing for LA.

and i thought i misheard barea when he said "hella" but i guess others heard it as well. hilarious.

lol, it really did look like he was trying to figure out which part of his brain pulled that word out of the dustbin and put it in his interview.

It's hilarious watching the Lakers face adversity, still hard to imagine them getting eliminated this early though.

Im sure stern will make sure Lakers get back in the series with the refs, especially considering the ratings Lakers and Heat match-up would bring in the finals.

Can the Thunder beat the Grizz? I don't think the Grizz or Thunder have much chance against either the Lakers or Mavs.

As for the Mavs being old, they still have Butler out. They'll also be able to attract younger FAs and keep their window open ala the Celtics. The important thing is Dirk is not looking old out there.

Even if Dallas wins the title, most are all older veteran types who are at the end of their contracts. I don't see a Dynasty unless they replace Kidd with Deron Williams in 2 years but even then how many more years does Dirk have at this level and can they afford everyone?
