If it's a sure thing that we'll know within a week, I don't see how it could be Frank or Casey. Both of them may still be coaching in the playoffs in a week. And I sure hope they are both finalists.

Bonzi hasn't been on 1560 a "whole bunch". Mo T has though.

Yeah, I can see MoT, too. Francis or Mo T. Les "very committed" to the guy, makes me think Francis, and how JVG finally did have a falling out with SF.

Mike Woodson had a 7 hour interview and said he was feeling very good about it after it.

Cassell said he will talk about the interview later.

Wouldn't be surprised if either are the ones.

Then again, the Rockets really did seem fond of Rick's system, so maybe Sikma has a shot.

From old 'skoolers' to the new wave of assistants, they all want what adelman wanted, a stable roster.

Starting to think that a virus was sent to blue, infecting the mother board.

This "four wins" things look silly. Did they say how many wins the new coach will add on top of Adelman's?

I remember speculating at the time that they did not renew Van Gundy that I felt like he wanted McGrady gone. Nobody picked up on it. I still think JVG came to the conclusion that he could not win with McGrady and asked the organization to move him. Just my speculation though. Have nothing to base it on but a hunch. And McGrady obviously was on the radio a lot.

The "all about numbers" quote could only apply to guys like McGrady, Wells, or possibly Rafer and Spanoulis. The "on 1560 a lot" criteria kinda eliminates Spanoulis. Don't remember how much McGrady, Wells, and Rafer were on air. The other thing was JVG constantly stood by Rafer as his man at the point. So, that leaves Bonzi or McGrady.

i am totally with you. tmac didn't play d at all. he thought he had the right due to his status but everyone knows who jvg is. if you don't play d, then sit on bench. however, les wouldn't allow this happen.

i doubt he wanted mcgrady gone, when jvg would cover national televised rockets games i recall him always saying mcgrady had amazing court vision, he was the most talented player he coached.

That doesn't mean he didn't feel McGrady wasn't selfish and all about numbers. I think Van Gundy catered to McGrady when he first came in to see how much he could get out of him. But I just have this feeling that when JVG and Les and the front office met to discuss whether they were going to bring JVG back, I just have this nagging feeling that JVG wanted him gone. I thought I saw McGrady quit in the last playoff series. That's what I felt watching him on the floor. The intensity ramped up and McGrady wasn't there. I felt he quit on us at that time, in the heat of the moment, he wilted. And I think JVG knew it and knew we wouldn't win a C with him.

I'd be OK getting Dalembert. I'd prefer someone a bit younger and more active (Jordan, McGee), but defense, eating up space, and rebounding are the big needs and Dalembert does that.

The two finalists? I am hoping against Cassell and Elie. I am sure they would be good candidates in the future, but going from Rudy T, JVG and Adelman to either of those candidates would be such a drop that the Rockets would get the bends...

Instead, I would be happier with Mike Woodsen, Lawrence Frank, Mike Budenholzer, Dave Joerger, Dwane Casey, or Mike Malone. I am guessing Woodsen is a finalist based on the longest interview. I keep hearing Chris Finch's name, so I am guessing he is the other finalist.

I agree. JVG always talks about how good McGrady was.

I agree with the other posters above that it must have been Francis. He fits all of the categories that Justice brought up.

*JVG probably didn't want Francis here cause he's all about the scoring numbers. Didn't care much about winning in JVG's eyes.

    *Francis was always on 1560.

*JVG didn't think they could win with Francis around - took a while but they eventually traded him.

*Les still liked Francis so he got management to resign Francis when he was available. And, more importantly, they resigned Francis after JVG was fired. Les gets the player he believed in before; now without the coach that hated him.

If they hire Woodson, I would be more then upset about firing Adelman and then hiring a guy who couldn't even control his own team.

It makes me ill to read that. I can't believe they tossed Adelman aside, when he really wanted to coach this team and felt they just needed a center, and needed to stop jacking with the roster. It's only the same ****ing thing I've read here a thousand times, from more people than I care to count. Just ****ing incredible. It's been a long time since I've been this pissed off at Alexander and the Rockets organization. Morey? How about showing us something, chump. I'm tired of singing your praises. As far as I'm concerned, you're on the clock and the damned thing is ticking. Alexander? Suck on it, chump.

This isn't fair. He coached a team full of boneheads and did a remarkable job. It was only the last half of his final season in Atlanta that his players quit on him.

Not that I want him coaching the Rockets (farrrr from the case). Just trying to be fair.

Fair point about the boneheads on the team but I wouldn't call his job remarkable. Only two winning seasons in 6 years and swept out of the 2nd rd two years in a row, including what some consider the worst playoff performance of all time last year vs Orlando. Heck, they should have lost to a Bogut-less Bucks team in the 1st rd but managed to survive it.

He best moment as a coach was taking Boston to seven games as an eight seed.

I wouldn't put any stock into these kinds of articles, when have they ever been right? I can pretty much guarantee that our core is set and we aren't going to rebuild.

It cannot be SF3, it's not news worthy. Everyone knows JVG did not like him.
