Is Brad Mills just really really stubborn, or is he downright r****ded? WTF is he thinking? When your "closer" hasn't even recorded a single out after facing 4 batters, why wouldn't you at least try to make a switch... It's like he just leaves him out there regardless of the situation, and Brandon Lyon continues to prove that he is the worst "closer" in baseball. He is a complete joke, and the Astros will continue to be terrible until that ****ing idiot Brad Mills is fired. **** you Brandon Lyon, and **** you Brad Mills.

Back into the lead for blown saves on the season with 8. We have converted only 4 of 12 opportunities on the season. Lyon is responsible for 4 of the blown saves.

    Lyon's stats after today:

    7.15 ERA 2.12 WHIP

Enough is enough Mills. Melancon should be the new closer.

pretty sure he hasn't struck out a single batter this season in a save situation.

he's complete trash, and mills is a f'ing moron for letting this happen this many times 30 games into the season. they forced a mediocre at best, overpaid, middle reliever into their closers role, and don't have the balls and brains to cut their losses when they should have.

sickening and unfair that fans have to watch that crap.

    F***ing Lyon.

Please give the job to Melancon. He's ready. Lyon is finished as a closer.

    Signed,

The Round Rocks fantasy baseball team who picked up Melancon predicting that Lyon would continue to fail.

THIS. Brad Mills is by far the worst manager I have ever seen. He makes downright r****ded decisions. It's like he always tries to play by the book, except he is the only person on the planet that doesn't realize Brandon Lyon is a big POS. The Reds knew it, and they went out with some swag and hammered Lyon's pitches until the inevitable happened. Can someone please tell Brad Mills that wins are hard to come by, and he keeps pissing them away with horrible managing.

Also, I realize it was his first start, but what jackass manager pulls their starting pitcher after 5 innings of 1 hit, 0 runs?!?!?!?!? He had only throw 83 pitches!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

HOLLLLLYYYY **** BALLS. I come home, see we've allowed 1 hit and no runs through 8 and what happens? Lyon comes in and gives up 4 hits, 3 ER, 1 walk and BLOWS THE SAVE.

You piece of **** Lyon.:mad::mad::mad:Why would you do this to us Mills... WHY? Our season's already going to be bad enough without this clown handing the other team the game every 1-2 opportunities.

Man! Brandon Lyon is not a closer please stop running that gas can out there. Hell, he's not even middle relief man for that matter, just cut him I say.

This brings uP something that has always bothered me. Why do "bad" teams have set closers??? Makes no sense. They get inconsistent save opportunities and a bad team has no business paying big money for somebody who is a luxury.

Of course in Lyons case, he is neither a luxury or a quality closer. Him and Carlos lee have no business being on this team. Hell, I find these games so much more pleasant without having to watch Lee's ovErpaid fat ass.

It was his first start and he threw 83 pitches. Dump on Mills and Lyon all you want...but this argument is not a good one.

He had an 80 pitch limit. He wasn't going out for another inning regardless. That was a decision made with the pitching coach and GM.

What was the scouting report on the new guy starting today? Is he sort of just filler until Lyles can come up?

Well I'm glad you think Mills made 1 good decision today. Maybe you should tell him that there are 9 innings in baseball, and they all matter. Losing a game that you led 2-0 going into the 9th having allowed only 1 hit to the opposing team is unforgivable. How can this team ever turn the corner with this jackass managing? A lot of ignorant fans hate on the Astros and say they suck and have no talent, but this is not true. If they had a bullpen and a manager worth a damn they would be a good team. **** Brad POS Mills.

He is a Rule V pick from the Rays. If he becomes anything, it will be a pleasant surprise.
