[rquoter]In an interview with Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo...and Chris Carrino, Deron Williams reiterated that the Nets organization has been great to him and is "great top to bottom", but the bottom line for him "getting some players".

"I'm definitely liking the organization," he told ESPN. "I'm liking Coach Johnson, and after numerous discussions with the organization, i feel they're going in the right direction."

Separately, he told Carrino on the Nets website, "I like the prospect of staying here" and said one of his jobs next season will be get Brook Lopez to be "a dominant force every night, not just every other night."

Asked about what it will take to get him to stay, Williams said what he's said from Day One. "To be honest with you, we just have to get players. That's it. Everything else is great: the organization is great from top to bottom, the owner is committed to winning, committed to getting players. That's the bottom line. We have to get some players."

Williams said the Nets know that's what it will take to keep him, "Yeah, i think so. I think they know that. I think they knew that going into the situation...i think that's doable, especially now. In Utah, it wasnt as easy. Here once they move to Brooklyn, thats definitely appealing to people, a new arena and the ownership. The owner is committed to winning. So it's a lot easier still."

if brook lopez can become a dominant big man defensively, it takes NJ to another level. that's up to him. he's such a bust to me personally b/c i had high expectations for him.

The six rebounds stands out, but he DOES give you 20 points a game. Why is he a bust to you?

six rebounds is beyond pathetic for a center. and let's not mention the atrocious defense that he plays. he's like worse than amare in those 2 areas, and amare is really bad.

i had expectations of him becoming an all-star this past season (and he's capable of doing that considering only dwight howard is a better C skills-wise). but he's not doing the things necessary that elevates a team at the C position (rebounding, blocking shots, shutting down the paint...)

with his talent, he can score 20 points easy. that's a given. but the nets need him to do more than that.

and instead of having deron asking for more talent, if brook can elevate his other facets of the game, the nets can easily be a top 4-5 team in the east with those 2 guys alone.

There is a difference between being disappointing and a bust.

Brook Lopez is a great trade piece to have when looking for that second superstar. It's up to NJ to find the match.

Brook doesn't get a lot of rebounds because of the beastly rebounding abilities of Humpback Kris Kardashian. But he is a weak rebounder, just not as bad as the "6 rebounds" suggests.

Apollo, he's had 82 games to suggest otherwise.......anytime a C gets under 5 rebounds, it tells me he's not physical enough...Maybe they should move him to PF and have a twin tower lineup with D.Howard

After 3 complete seasons, it's fair to call him one of the worst rebounding starting centers in the league. 8, 8.7, and 6. And we're talking about the same 6-9 Humphries that's never pulled down 7 boards in a season before this (adjust his per min rate from last year to this year and it would still be only 8.8).

AJ has gone ballistic on him repeatedly over it.

I have to admit, I don't get how a guy this gifted is this soft on the glass.

I've never been big on Brooke Lopez, but calling him a bust is going way too far. He is what he is, which is a decent scoring C who doesn't rebound well. For some reason unknown to me, people really jumped on his bandwagon as a rookie and expectations for him soared. Now that it's become clear he isn't an elite player, people seem to be disappointed.

I think it's pretty easy to see why people jumped on his bandwagon... Yao had very similar stats in his rookie campaign.

he's a bust TO ME (i'm not talking about the consensus here). i really had HIGH HOPES for him coming into this past season. rebounding and defense for a big men are something that's simply effort and hustle. he has the size and physicality to at least be "effective" in those areas. but he's a ghost. that's completely unacceptable.

i'll give him another year to fix those areas. hopefuly having dwill there will motivate him.

Isn't this the guy Scola usually would dominate when we played them?
