    [rquoter]CHICAGO (AP)—Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose(notes) is the NBA’s MVP, becoming the youngest player in league history to win the award, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press.

    The person spoke Monday night on the condition of anonymity because a formal announcement has not been made. That could come Tuesday, with a formal presentation before Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.[/rquoter]

    Congrats to Rose, he deserved it, but I'll be laughing out loud when Miami sweeps them next round (if they even make it that far)

    Just saw the presentation on TNT. Did he cried or something when he was thanking his mom? I was looking afar and wasn't paying attention, but there was awkward silence.

    Derrick Rose received 113 of 120 first place votes (1,182 points) to win the 2010-11 NBA Most Valuable Player award.

    Dwight Howard finished second with 643 points, followed by LeBron James with 522, Kobe Bryant with 428, Kevin Durant with 190 and Dirk Nowitzki with 113 points.

    So far in the playoffs he shoots awful and turns the ball over like crazy. Sorry, but he is really overrated.
