HOUSTON BOUND? Celtics assistant coach Lawrence Frank

all of these guys we're interviewing are massive downgrades from adelman. however, they seem to be coaches who would "listen" to their GM to keep their jobs.

 

Frank is a good coach. He had a terrible year in Jersey, but that team wasn't much to work with.

I'd take him over Mike Brown any day.

Didn't Lawerence lead a few bad teams to the playoffs? Mike Brown couldn't do anything without The Queen.

 

I don't see why people are only talking about Frank's bad year with the Nets when he's done a lot for them. I'm pretty sure he's taken them to the finals once or twice (I think it's once). And yes I know some smart ass is going to be like they didn't do **** in the finals, well look who they were up against, it was against the Spurs when Tim Duncan could still do something. Also why the hell would you want people like Mike Woodson and Mike Brown over Frank Lawrence? Mike Brown couldn't do **** with the "best player" in the league and having the best record in the league. Mike Woodson just speaks for himself, the guy couldn't get anything done in Atlanta.

 

HOUSTON - League sources told FOX 26 Rockets officials met with Boston Celtics assistant coach lawrence Frank Monday in Miami, Fla.​

Frank came to the Celtics prior to the 2010-11 season after spending 6 1/2 years as the head coach of the New Jersey Nets.​

He compiled a 225-241 record with the Nets including four trips to the playoffs.​

The Rockets are also known to have interviewed former Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Woodson, Rockets assistant coach Jack Sikma, Sacramento Kings assistant coach Mario Elie and Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Kelvin Sampson.​

Byron Scott took them to the finals twice. Frank took them there zero times.

 

Frank is not a good coach. Yes he's young but he ain't good. I hope we go another direction.

 

When did Mike Brown coach without Lebron? Cleveland had a great defense and won a lot of games with obviously James but also Brown. If Lebron alone won 60+ every year with a bunch of nobodies,then how did the Heat not go undefeated? Give Brown some credit!

Brown also routinely got out coached in the playoffs. The biggest post season successes for the Cavs were solely because of Lebron taking over.

the rockets asked my employer for permission to interview me. apparently they got refused. might as well. I didn't want to lineup in front of morey's office for 49 hours.

 

I really really think this is the guy Morey and Co. are going to hire. He seems to be a good fit, do not understand the hate.

 

The guy coached the Nets for almost 7 years. He took over a team which was fresh off a finals appearance. And he didn't do jack.

Mike Brown, I think I'd be okay with. At least he has had success. And no, the Cavs team last year was not the same as the Cavs team this year (that team was healthy, had LeBron, couple of good bigmen in Shaq/Z, Delonte West). And Brown wasn't even coaching this years Cavs team.
