Didn't see anyone discussing this, but perhaps I missed. Too bad I'm moving to Calgary in a few months. http://www.click2houston.com/family/27763421/detail.html
OMG YES! FINALLY! Love Trader Joes. Everytime I have family coming from Cali visiting, I have them bring stuff.
Calgary? Geez. Pack a jacket. I went up there during August and they were telling me to make sure and get out within a few weeks because of the incoming cold. Very beautiful up there, though. As for Trader Joe's, I've heard of it but never been. It seems the first one in Texas is opening up in the DFW area, so I may have to visit. Is this a Whole Foods type place? If so, I doubt I'll be a regular there (too pricey), but like I said, I'd check it out.
2 buck chuck and hot women in Yoga pants FTW! <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OdB7GDZY3Pk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> TJ's rules!
Almost everything they sell is their own brand, which is nice. It's not really like Whole Foods, which is much more expensive. Price wise, Trader Joe's is comparable to your everyday grocery store (Kroger, HEB, Randall's, etc...okay, maybe not Randall's).
Wholes Food started in Austin so I'm curious to see how Trader's Joe will affect their competition coming from California...
TJ's has a lot of decent wine for very low prices. They also have a good beer selection. Their food is almost always good even if it's a frozen version of something. Their salads are great as well. I love Trader Joes.
