    so they buried him within 24 hours, according to Islam practice, but they did it at sea, not according to Islam practice. Makes sense :grin:

    The exact spot is said to be somewhere in the North arabian sea.

    KPRC just reported it's not known if photos will be released, but that the burial was taped and that video may be released. They also said OBL made a video shortly before being killed and they expect that to pop up soon.

    Islam prefers land burial but burial at sea is acceptable if a land burial isn't possible. Burial at sea might be preferable in any case if it is thought that the body might be dug up and mutilated. In this case, the US felt that finding a country willing to take the body and the logistics involved would've likely taken more than 24 hours so they opted for burial at sea.

    Yeah i read that...as well as that burial at sea in this case was not preferable, at least not based on Islamic practice. Seems like it was just preferable to the US to get it over with quickly. Personally it doesn't bother me either way, but i just thought it was contradictory. Maybe they were better off not saying anything, who knows. There's always going to be critics on either side.
