I'm sure this has been mentioned a dozens times already, but how is it possible that the Pakis didn't know he was hiding out in Abbottabad?

    There is no way.

Dick Cheney Says 'Obama Deserves Credit' for Osama Bin Laden's Death

"The administration clearly deserves credit for the success of the operation," Cheney told ABC News, adding that getting bin Laden has long been "the ultimate goal, the ultimate objective" of the U.S. counterterrorism program.

Cheney praised President Obama for the judgment he exercised in making the call to go forward with the raid.

"We all owe him the same sense of satisfaction that I'm sure they feel," Cheney said.

What did you expect the Seals to do when he and his allies fought back? subdue them at great risk of their lives?

DNA tests that have priority processing certainly can be run in a matter of hours...Im fairly certain the Gov can give the dna sample directly to the tech and say Run It Now. Most cases take longer as there are massivw backups at all major labs.

    Talk about being bloodthirsty.

Im just as sceptical of anything the gov does as the next cynical b*stard here, but all this conspiracy theory crap isnt near as logical and obvious as people like you try to make it.

Speaking from experience, a DNA test would take a few hours when given priority.

Don't let the liberal media, tell you, how to think or feel. You know they gon plant stories that can't be corroborated by witnesses. Same way the government keeps the poor, poor.

And Pakistan is a land of degenerates. I wouldn't put it past them not to know Osama was living there even if he was holding wild sweet sixteen birthdays for his newest wife every year.

There's a difference in shooting and shooting to kill. Also, reports are coming out that say the intention the whole time was to kill him, not bring him to trial.

I'm sure DNA tests can be performed quickly, but to break in, kill him, transport his body to a lab, get the test results, announce the operation's success, and bury him seems like a pretty full day for anybody, and I'm wondering how they pulled it off.

I don't understand your comment about bloodthirst. Was it a pun on DNA testing?

I'm not offering any major conspiracy theory, and I'm sure part of what's being said is true, but I seriously doubt that all of it is. The Government is going to spin this as best they can, and it's what I've come to expect of them.

Regardless of the details surrounding his death, I still feel that the more important questions revolve around the necessity of his death versus future retaliation, and the status of our uniformed personnel overseas.

We've sent our children to their deaths in two countries because of a tenuous connection to one man. As I said earlier, Saudi Arabia would have been the correct war to fight.

If we believed that the death of bin Laden would atone for September 11th (I don't), then we achieved that goal and it's time to bring our soldiers home.

If we don't, it goes a long way towards proving the Imperialist, oppressive, and meddling accusations levied against us by the Middle East.

Maybe if you recharge your shot meter, hold the Y button, while holding the left trigger, and activate "bullet time" you can place your shots a bit better to go for the disabling shot; too bad it could have gotten the SEALs a lot of killer achievements and maybe Recon armor.

    --->
Otherwise I assume during a midnight firefight in a terrorist hideout in Pakistan, things get a bit more hairy when there are live bullets being shot at you by real-live terrorists and the adrenaline is flowing, even the pros from Dover tend to shoot to kill on instinct rather than to maim at great risk to themselves. As it should be. Your armchair zaprudering makes you look kind of silly here.

There's no need to second guess this one Ender. This is one good day in the 10 years of this thing so far. Just let the public have it for what it's worth and we will worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

How did they use only his sisters dna to match. All that would prove is that they are siblings unless they are twins.

I don't play shooters, so I'm going to assume you're making a COD reference.

I'm sure it does get hairy in midnight Pakistani firefights, making cripple shots hard to come by.

But what about the reports that the Seals were sent specifically to kill him, with capture not an option?

It's one thing to assassinate a leader in charge of a hostile army, it's another to kill someone a decade removed from the power structure we're trying to fight.

His trial and punishment before a world court would have sent a much stronger message to terrorists: We will have justice, but we won't do it your way.

I understand and agree that finally achieving the goal we've spent ten years chasing is a good thing for American morale.

My issue is with the way we're celebrating and the potential for terrorist backlash.

In a few months, when they blow up a building somewhere else, no one will be cheering.

So you're right, I hope people enjoy it now.

As far as I understood the reports, their only involvement was to authorize helicopter flights, but they did not know for what purpose.

That doesn't make any sense. It's not like the terrorists that would want to retaliate because of this suddenly now feel the need to backlash against America. We have been involved in a several wars, have had a history of detaining members of his organization, have put other members on trial already, etc. etc. Quit acting like suddenly relations have fallen apart with some sort of foreign country. Of course they will try to 'retaliate' against the US now...just like they have for decades.

And it's not like they would be any less upset if he was brought in alive and put on trial before being executed. What are his terrorist supporters going to do in that scenario? "Oh, well, at least they gave him a trial. We're good."

    Enders120,

Liberals are too weak minded at times, always seeking the validation of people they deem as higher status symbols w/ respect to society. Always going over to the opposite side to see what they have to say, just to cringe and whine about it moments later. Each time, Erry time.

I'm happy he's dead, but the reality is it means nothing. There are people plotting against this nation at this very moment - not because they have waged a War against Terror, but because they are leeching the 3rd world dry of their oil (increasing income gaps between the rich and poor) and helping to topple regime's in countries with oil (ie Libya) while completely ignoring ****holes like Pakistan because they have nothing to offer them. These are the frustrations that fuel fundamentalists.

So I applaud you for staying grounded and focused while the others sway about merrily due to their fleeting nature.

    A trial?

Screw that, this is war, he should have thought of what would happen to him before he recruited those ignorant fools to fly planes into our buildings.

Bullets are much cheaper than a trial, and turning him into fish food, brilliant !!!

This was clearly well thought out, a tactical strike that worked like a charm.....

    Bravo Obama !!

    Bravo USA !!!
