Which serves to confirm the first time.

RR, I think most people in and out of government office and position are very concerned.

And when found, he'll probably pull the trigger on himself a la Adolf.

    TJ, two things.

#1 We all know Bin Laden was in Khartoum.

#2 The govt. of Sudan NEVER offered OBL to Bill Clinton. I've listened the link a thousand times. What Clinton said was that there would be legal problems getting OBL extradicted at that time.

What the clip you have didn't say is that Sudan never made a credible offer of OBL during Clinton's presidency.

I will post the facts again in less detail. If you want details please do a search and look up the other 10 times when I debunked this falsehood you keep pumping.

The part about the tape, is that Bill Clinton pleaded with the Saudis to take Bin Laden which is totally different than Bin Laden being offered to the U.S.

Furthermore, the 9-11 commission the very claim, that you are talking about now. Guess what they found? There was no evidence to support such an offer.

What Clinton said about any sort of offer to the U.S. was this. This is the only part we he mentions even the notion of an offer.
And just how was the govt. hearing that the Sudanese wanted the U.S. to take care of Bin Laden?

From none other than a business man named Mansoor Ijaz. Ijaz had business contacts in Sudan and they were being hampered because of U.S. sanctions against them. The U.S. had sanctions against them because they supported terrorism, and were the largest players in the adult slave trade industry. Yet Mansoor wanted sanctions lifted so he could make some money.

He went to the whitehouse and made the claims about the Sudanese govt offering Bin Laden. Clinton's whitehouse told him they weren't in the business of doing business with sovereign nations by using a middleman. They then contacted the Sudanese govt. themselves and investigated the claim. They found that there was no credibility to Mansoor Ijaz's claim.

Guess where Mansoor Ijaz works now? FOX NEWS.

So TJ wants to try and insert meaning into words on a tape, that all stemmed from a self appointed diplomat, who's offer was investigated and not found to be credible, by both the Clinton Whitehouse, and the 9-11 commission.

Please bookmark this, so the next time you try and peddle that bunch of hogwash I can refer you here.

I think that, regardless of the circumstances, when you enter your second term, the statute of limitations on blaming your predecessor would have passed.

The desperation of fringe repubs to blame Clinton for the current state of affairs with Bin Laden (and various other ills of the world) is what is being ridiculed in that post.

The current difficulties locating (killing/ capturing) Bin Laden rest squarely on the 'shoulders' of the Bush administration and no one else.

All finger pointing aside (yeah, like that's going to happen ;)), I think we're still actively searching for him and, if he's still alive, we're going to find him someday.

Just because we don't read about what's going on in Afganistan every day (as opposed to Iraq) doesn't mean we've called off the search. It's mostly Special Forces doing the searching and most of what they do is under the radar anyway, so of course we're not going to read about it on the internet, at least not as much as the 'sexier' war in Iraq.

Your post leads to my follow up question which is what resources have we diverted to Iraq that could be used to track down and kill Bin Laden. We have over 100,000 American troops in Iraq and have allocated over $200 billion for this war. What assets, be they military, intelligence, surveillance, or whatever else, do we have being used for Iraq that could be used to smoke Bin Laden out of his hole?

Still amazing he hasn't been found yet.

Turn the job over to alumni fundraising committees. They'd find his ass in no time!

[Rant]It's sad but predictable that this question immediately led to a vigorous round of finger pointing by the denizens of the D&D.

To answer the question, it bugs the sh*t out of me. 4 years after Pearl Harbor, the Japanese had already sucked our d*cks on the decks of the Missouri. I think we should have pursued Bin Laden to the ends of the earth and brought that scum to justice.[/Rant over] :)

Rereading through this thread and who would've thunk that Osama actually was living in a big mansion and not in a spider hole.

Well, a lot of people.... of course, not Pakistan.... they obviously knew NOTHING about it... what with him living in an affluent area surrounded by retired Pakistani militar. Then, of course, there is the confirmation from them that they were IN NO WAY Involved in turning him in or the operation itself.

Sarcasm noted, and agreed with. ;)

Anyone who honestly thinks Pakistan is doing anything other than stringing us along with old/faulty intel so we will keep sending them money is delusional or just totally clueless about the facts of life.

Fortunately, we never give up lookin for you when you kick us in the nuts.

ahahaha you sir... are a $%&# IDIOT

I'm not even a republican and your comment is GARBAGE.

If Obama was in the same spot, we would of never gotten him in the 8 years either.

You are talking about the Ali of terrorist and was well well well hidden... maybe even in the same spot the entire time. it took countless YEARS of work by our intelligence AGENCIES. It took countless YEARS of man-power. It took lives, wives, mothers, daughters, sons, uncles, brothers, dads, aunts, grandmothers LIVES to find this man. Make no freakin mistake about it, it was not an easy job to find 1 hidden man with governments, terrorist groups, and insurgents helping him hide.

Either way, your comment is a freaking joke and you sir need better logic.
