It would be disrespectful to Muslim tradition to not bury him within 24 hours. It may have upset "swing terrorists?" and make recruiting easier.

It's about not fanning the flames of his death for muslims that have decided to not join Al Qaeda, yet. It may have also been part of an agreement with Pakistan in order to find out where he lives. It wouldn't surprise me at all, if Pakistan leadership said "We will give you his house, if you bury him according to muslim law. We don't want to fan the flames and hype up his death, even more than it will be." The guy was living in an affluent neighborhood close to Pakistan military training academy.

It is unknown whether or not they release the photos or not. I believe they will surface eventually, whether they are leaked, or part of the President's, or even a future President's promise of transparency.
