So you were that dude in front of the white house holding the Bush Cheney '04 sign? Are you posting from your phone? Tell us, what's it like out there?
Don't take the bigtexxx bait! He's putting it out there and it will derail this thread. Don't let him win. It's weird to think back to ten years ago and 9/11 and be where I am now. This is a historic day. I am glad that our Solid Snake team went in there and put the bullet through his head. I am glad that President Obama gave the order and trusted our great national security team enough to go for it.
Saddam was buried back in Tikrit, Iraq in the same cemetery as his two sons. I'd expect something similar.
Apparently it was a helicopter raid involving 4 helicopters. 1 crashed due to mechanical reasons but no American casualties... 1 of Bin Laden's sons was also killed in the firefight...
Navy Seals are kick ass. Thank you to any servicemembers here who have served or have had family members who have served. I am profoundly grateful.
Correction: Dubya's mission was never accompllished. fwiw the public announcement for bin Laden death was 1 May 2011; for Hitler, it was 1 May 1945
what a great day and its just a relief. Would you guys have rather we caught him alive and could put him in trial, and maybe keep him in jail and let him get roughed up by some people in there and just watch the suffering, its mean, I think life with no parol is worse than the death sentence in my opinion, I would've loved to see him have to suffer through that and be out of a position of power or be away from his little entourage to people who can really let him know what the world thinks of him
It's time for change on the War on Terror. With Osama's death, Panetta's appointment, and the recent release of the progressive "People's Budget" that calls for deep slashes in the military budget, it's the perfect time for America to reconsider its' War on Terror. Osama's death is a symbolic victory, but if it results in less money spent on guns and occupation, and less civilians dying (which in turn creates fewer terrorists), then I will be a happy camper indeed. Conversely, if Obama fails at this task---I will be very disappointed. A true test of America's strength and character lies just ahead.
