Big difference in one free throw compared with taking the other team's best player out of the game with 7+ minutes remaining. When O'Neal was given a flagrant (and the Heat a 5-point possession) for brushing James Jones, I knew not to take this game seriously. At least the officials are being consistent - I'll give them that.
What a joke of a call. That was an unwarranted twitch call on the refs. I hate to say it but, i don't know that call would be called on Miami's primary players. It stinks all the way around.
What he is saying is if the refs knew Wade had a tech before they probably would not have called a double technical. The double technical thing is such b/s anyway. Either get the guy that started it or don't call a tech at all.
Pierce is lucky they didn't toss him after the head-butt (or face-butt, whatever)- that's his own fault. He's a vet and should know better.
Agreed. I could MAYBE overlook the fact that the heat have doubled the celtics' FT attempts. But this is just disgraceful. First the 'flagrant' on o'neal, then the lack of flagrant on Jones, and Wade literally lunging himself into Pierce resulting in Pierce's ejection. Whatever. Bring on Game 2.
Boston's losing by 16 and have been down big for a majority of the game, this isn't quite a Lakers-Kings screwjob here.
The double tech that led to Pierce being ejected was weak but the refs are not the reason Boston will go on to lose this game.
