I think these estimates are pretty good, this is what I am thinking as well: somewhere between 6-10. I wonder why nbadraft.net is so underestimating where he will go. They typically overestimate where international prospects will go -- like, off the top of my head, I think they had Marcel Lampe, Barbosa and Batum all around 12 or 14 when they came out, but those guys went in the 20's or later. Now they seem to be making the opposite mistake with Biyombo. All that said, I think the Jazz may give the Rockets the 6th pick for Courtney Lee and the 14th pick. The Jazz's main hole is the 2 gaurd, and this draft really doesn't have anything that compares with Lee right now or even regarding potential for the 2. On the other hand, I like Lee a lot, and I think the Jazz may give up the 12 and the 6 for Martin.
As might already be clear, I am think Biyombo is going to be great... HOWEVER... There is a thread going on on another forum that is too funny not to laugh at and repost: http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/bismack-biyombo-facts Some of the facts people have come up with: "Bismack Miyombo was once bitten by a vampire but he didn't turn into one, the vampire turned into Serge Ibaka" "Helen Kellers favorite color is Bismack Biyombo " "Biyombo once blocked a dunk contest dunk" "The Nazis named their battleship the Bismarck in honour of the only blackman apart rom Jessie Owens who the Aryan race looked inferior against."
Idk, Biyombo stock will be determined by team needs and by the individual workouts. We also have to see how the actual lottery will look. As far as the Jazz go, they're looking to rebuild, I don't think they're interested on a SG who's in his prime (becoming 26 this year) and will be due for new contract pretty soon. IMO The only teams probably looking to move down or out, I think are Minny, Charlotte and Milwaukee and maybe Cleveland (with the Clipps lottery pick). I would also include Sacramento, if all the PG's(Irving, Walker, Knight) are gone by their pick(which is unlikely). Assuming those teams stay with in their current range, each pick would have a different cost, for example Minny and Sac would probably ask for Kevin Martin(Minny) or Kyle Lowry(Sac)/ Cleveland, Milwaukee, and Charlotte would probably want Courtney Lee in exchange for their pick. Now with that said, If Biyombo is sitting there at the 8th, 9th or 10th pick, and all Milwaukee, Charlotte or Cleveland was asking for was Courtney Lee would you do it? (Personally I would.)
I'd hate to do it, but I would definitely move Lee in order to move up for Biyombo. I think you're wrong about the Jazz rebuilding though. Look at their team -- they have a legit starting point, Jefferson at the 5, Millsap at the 4, Favors developing behind those two , and a decent bench. Also, the Jazz don't do rebuilding much as an organization. I think they would jump at the chance to add Martin and be in playoff contention rather than draft a project draft pick that may not pan out.
Here are the international players that have declared for the draft and where NBAdraft expects them to go in the draft. The list was compiled at 04/28/2011 its just a few days old. I place this here because I find it odd that there is such a huge discrepancy between where they think some players are going in the draft vs. Draft Express, perticularly Bismack Biyombo. DX has Biyombo drafted at 6 while NBAdraft has him going somewhere from late 1st to 2nd round. http://www.nbadraft.net/2011-nba-draft-official-early-entrants Code: Name Height Weight Pos Country Birth Year Likely to be Drafted Andrew Albicy 5'9" 170 PG France 1990 Second round to undrafted. I suspect DX expects some team to take a flier on Biyombo early as it is a weak draft. Low probability High reward may outweigh high probability so-so reward.
Draftexpress list player by who they believe are the best prospects in the draft. (They do not take team wants or needs into account in their mock drafts)
I love Draft Express profiles and articles much more than NBAdraft but I also like to have an actual idea of where players will go in the draft so I will have an idea on who will be available for the Rockets. Most people think Biyombo will go well before the Rockets draft at 14 because of Draft Express. However, NBAdraft has been very accurate in years past with their mock drafts when looking at the lottery.
Biyombo is starting to climb up the nbadraft.net board. He's up to 22 now. I still think they are severely underrating him both in their projection in the mock and in their scaled analysis of him. It's so strange too, because usually they overestimate foreign players in both regards, esp. big men.
biyombo‘s wingspan is 7’7。so amazing wingspan,so can support us more blockshot and rebound, can protect our team paint area。that is no doubt that he is a amazing defensive player just like what Ibaka did

Chad Ford says Timberwolves like Biyombo very much. Maybe they will trade down a few slots for Biyombo and another player. Something like Kings give Marcus Thornton and #7 for Timberwolves #2. Thornton and Biyombo will fill Timberwolves needs very nicely.
That trade would make sense for both team (T wolves get a 2 guard who showed a lot of potential and which is a weakness for them - Sacramento would be able to get the point guard they want in Knight or Irving and they don;t even really need Thronton anymore now that Evans is moving to the 2). However, Thornton is a restricted free agent, so he can not be included in any deal -- and Sacramento doesn't have a lot of other assets for such a deal. Maybe something similar can be done with Washington or Detroit though. I have to say that I hope something like this does not happen though. I think Biyombo is the best player in the draft and I am really hoping the Rockets find some way to move up and get him.
The point is that many posters are thinking we have no shot at Biyombo because DraftExpress has him going at number 7 while NBAdraft does take into account teams needs and wants when they put together their mock. That's why I think we have a shot at Biyombo.
DX's updated rankings take into account team needs/desires. http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2011/
Yup, just noticed that a couple of days ago. But I don't think Jonathan did a good job in figuring out team needs for a couple of teams. For example I just don't see Toronto taking Kemba Walker with the 5th overall pick, they have a desperate need for a center, Kanter or Valanciunas or possibly even Biyombo, are all better candidate to be taken with the 5th overall pick. Also, Milwaukee, lacks a young SG they can team up with Brandon Jennings, so I would look at Alec Burks (a replacement for the ageing Salmons) to go in that spot, instead of Marcus Morris.
