is there something wrong with forming "superteams"

in 07-08, KG, pierce, and ray allen (via trades) formed a super team.

    in 06-07, KG put up 22, 13, 4
    pierce put up 25, 5, 6
    allen put up 26, 4, 4

they all achieved team success together. you're bringing up a stat that will be proven irrelevant since lebron/wade/bosh formed a "super team"

not sure about the specifics but i dont remember the big 3 planning to form a team. they were brought together because the GM pulled off the trades or they at least did a good job making it look like luck. Lebron, Bosh, and Wade on the other hand were planning it for years.

This key to this series is Boston's bonehead move of trading Perkins.

With him, they probably win........without him, they probably dont

Bosh said a number of times that they talked about it during the Olympics and then the 3 had meetings. Yes, it's possible ghey were just buddies but I highly doubt Bosh and LBJ signing with Miami was merely coincidental.

anyway, they have one of the best teams regardless of how it was formed. i still hope boston runs em over and miami only wins championships if RA is coaching them.

The Heat big 3 were brought together because Pat Riley managed to clear the cap space to re-sign Wade while bringing in two (near) max contract guys.

He wasn't going to learn that under Del Harris or Kurt Rambis either. Phil Jackson wasn't the coach of the Lakers when Shaq went there. You think he might have been interested in going to Orlando in 1999 if they still had the Shaq/Penny combo?

    None and you know that.

The reason that Perkins will be missed is because of the (what I predict to be ) inability of Boston to protect its rim from the drives of Wade and LeBron. With Perkins you had an intimidation factor that is not there now that he's gone.

    I may be wrong.........but I doubt it.

Boston beat Miami twice without Perk.

Boston's defense has improved slightly after the Perk trade.

It's Boston's offense which has been terrible.

That is all regular season.......playoffs are a different matter entirely.

I doubt that Shaq can hold up for the series ( or even suit up) and the same goes for Jermaine.

That would leave them with Nenad Kristic to defend the middle lol.

I want Boston to win, but I say the Evil Empire in 6 or 7

true. the players also had to decide to go there. it was premeditated. riley and dwade did a hell of a job.

You're also conveniently forgetting the fact that KG did not agree to be traded to the Celtics until after they had paired Ray Allen with Paul Pierce. He was not willing to go when it would have been just him and Pierce.

But again, I guess it's so much more honorable to force a trade or to dictate where your team can trade you when you're under contract than it is to exercise your rights as an unrestricted free agent.

I swear to god, this hate against the Heat is all jealousy... If any other team had the roster that they have, they would be all over it.

if wade can score more than 13 points a game, the heat have a much better chance of wining this series
