    Rashad Carmichael DB Virginia Tech.

Okay so we are stockpiling DBs now, not bad.

Carmichael has plenty of speed, which is the most important commodity in the NFL. He has fluid hips and very good agility to mirror wide receivers in man coverage and shows the ability to recognize tendencies and jump routes in zone coverage. He is a bit undersized and can struggle in run support, but he is a tough competitor who has a relentless motor. Although he has good hands and leaping skills, he tends to keep his back to the quarterback, limiting his ability to track the ball in the air. Carmichael looks to be a third- or fourth-round prospect.

Looks like he is definitely a corner.

Not saying he is going be a star but he is like 6'6, 235 lbs and ran like a 4.59. As a true freshman, he had 1117 yards and 12 TDs. That is unbelievable. Put him with Andre Johnson and he can learn a thing or two.

So we got 2 rookie corners coming in and probably at least one more in FA. Please tell me that spells the end of Brice McCain in a Texans/NFL uniform

Taking a second NFL-ready corner probably confirms that Quin will move to safety.

Guy looks like a ballhawk from his highlight clip that espn just played. Did they say 10 picks in 1 or 2 seasons?

I like this pick, both these corners already look a lot better than Kareem Jackson

So in Harris we have our solid Nickel guy and in Carmichael we a guy who could potentially be our #2 corner. His film looks awesome.

I think the odds are pretty good now of that hpapening.

CBs: KJ, Harris, Carmichael, Jason Allen, FA?
    Safeties: Quin, Barber, Nolan, FA?

I think Mccain would have to beat out Allen to make it, and I think Allen is flat out better. And please, for the love of God, get rid of Molden if you're not going to play him.

I think Jason Allen is gone. Sherrick McManis is a good special teams player so he might stick. I think Dominque Barber is going be gone but if he sticks, it's as a special teams player.

Darn. The Steelers picked Cortez Allen right after we picked Carmichael. I had my eye on Allen.

Texans pick 13th (144 overall) and 21st (152 overall) in the 5th round, barring any trades.

Knock on Carmichael seems to be that he doesn't play too well with his back to the ball. AKA Jacques Reeves syndrome. Let's hope coaching can fix that.

I'm optimistic about this draft class simply because we have new blood selecting the defensive players. These guys just seem different from the non-prototypical type of players we've taken in the past (Amobi, Mitchell, Adibi, Mccain types).

Not impressed. Not great speed (40 is slow, but good at shuttle and cone). My bigger concern is height and lack of vertical (apparently second worse for CB at combine).

4.39 doesnt seem like too slow of a 40

Watching his highlights he seems to have very good catch up/closing speed. The height and vert may be legitimate concerns. Also doesn't tackle well.

    And there goes Sands.

Can't believe Jacquizz Rodgers still hasn't be drafted. I know the Texans don't need a running back but still get some value here. Tate is coming off a major injury and Derrick Ward is coming of a great year but is going to be 31 years old.
