Got me on Allen. Randolph had the overpaid rep for a while now, with questions about his work ethic and health. But he's proving a lot of people wrong right now.
I really want to agree with you on this but I can't. While it is true talent can cancel a lot of bad stuff (like how teams will keep giving Tmac a chance no matter how lazy he is), if Zbo didn't get his head on straight Memphis would NOT be the team they are. Who remembers this Zbo:
It's definitely their depth, but i think they just came together at the right time. they had some really talented guys who didnt play well last year, some earlier this year...finally they just got on the same page and the Battier pick up allowed them to keep their depth at the 2/3. Even their rookie was playing well...you have to give their coach credit as well.
And the emphasis should be on they BELIEVED they were more talented, not the talent itself. Being more talented doesn't matter if you don't believe you are. Otherwise you won't go out there and show it.
hahaha, I laugh every time I see that. But back to topic, this was NY's roster when Z-Bo was there in 07-08, the time of that clip Renaldo Balkman 21 Wilson Chandler 25 Mardy Collins 11 Jamal Crawford 34 Eddy Curry 13 Jerome James 20 Jared Jeffries 2 Fred Jones 42 David Lee 3 Stephon Marbury 5 Randolph Morris 50 Zach Randolph 23 Quentin Richardson 4 Nate Robinson 31 Malik Rose Out of that group Marbury David Lee (this was before the D'Antoni David Lee) Quentin Richardson Jamal Crawford Wilson Chandler (rookie) were the only legit quality players. Nate Robinson Jared Jefferies borderline 10th man material So, in my opinion it just comes down to winning with good talent. Plus, what does "having a good head on", mean, anyways? Z-Bo has always produced very consistently ever since his breakout year.
oh and, I just see it this way: if you are putting up 20+10 and winning, then you are so-called "all-star". If you are 20+10 and losing, they you are just "stat-padding".
40.2% Spurs' shooting percentage with Shane Battier on the court, vs. 48.7% when he's on the bench. Shane Battier...
Damn is that true? You could say that's because he plays against their bench but their bench really isn't that bad.
Just thought i should point out that hes been on the Celtics the rest of his career (6 seasons) and has been a playoff X factor for them especially in the finals and actually had the best season of his career in 06-07 Boom Roasted
They were playing well with a healthy Gay. Their main players are Gasol and Zach. They are making things easier with their size for Battier, who was slowly declining on the weaker Rockets.
i am surprise that no one has given any credit to Grizz coach Lionel Hollins. more than anyone elsle, he is responsible for the Grizz's new found success.
rudy gay not playing i know the guy is a good offensive talent but he is an atrocious defender and a black hole on offensive he would be taking unnecessary quick shots and ignoring better options. as much as it seems silly to say i dont think the grizzlies would have won with rudy gay playing in this series
